Shooters Touch

Michael Loney has a ton of connections to AV and BC. His first basket was made in BC's hometown of Algona! The pride of Humboldt Iowa, Michael went on to play college ball at South Dakota State. He then spent some time teaching and coaching before he created Freedom Hoops! Another great story with ties back to small town Iowa!

We had a great conversation with Coach Stromer. He's a wealth of knowledge and is connected to the The Shooters Touch in more ways than we expected! Brandon has won in every step of his basketball life and is no different as a coach. We hope you enjoy the episode with Coach Stromer!

Kayla has a great story. Her 8th grade year in Dunkerton, IA her Scholl didn't even have a varsity basketball team. When they got that figured out, she became a great talent and eventually committed to play for Coe College. She played under Randi Henderson, wife of former guest Duez Henderson, and became an elite player. She left for a year and came back as an assistant, eventually taking over the head job. If you enjoy the episode, give us a 5 star rating and subscribe! Shooters shoot!

The TBT is a basketball tournament of professional and former college athletes with a $1 million, winner take all, prize for the winner. Matt Crawford is the General Manager of the Iowa United. A team that has progressed from strictly Iowa State players to players from all over the Midwest. We had a great conversation about the process of getting selected to compete in the TBT, the recruiting involved and what's next for them.

Coach Schlabaugh has a wealth of basketball knowledge. It was great to talk to someone with so much passion for the game we love, especially during this time of uncertainty. As good as Dave is with X's and O's, we could tell very quickly that he would give the shirt off his back for anyone that needed it. It was a great conversation with a true hoop head and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Well, it's over. The documentary that America needed to get their sport fix has completed and we were thoroughly impressed. From the flu(🍕) game, to Jordans best sneaker years, to Rodman and the WCW, we review it all in our latest episode.

These 2 episodes did not disappoint! This was prime Bulls fandom for us, but it's still been awesome to see behind the scenes. We cover the "tyrant"(their words not ours) Michael Jordan, Scottie quitting on his team and the shoe game in it's prime! We hope you enjoy!

More MJ! We called for it after last week's episode and our calls were answered. Episodes 5 & 6 were all about Michael, good and bad. ESPN dove into what some consider the darker side of #23. His gambling habits and, his sometimes out of hand, competitive nature. His rivalry with The Knicks is mentioned, which BC and AV remember very well, and the Converse Weapon's are mentioned? Enjoy!

Dennis Rodman, The Worm, a rebounding machine. A lot of aspects of Dennis' life were covered in this episode of The Last Dance and we discuss all of them! How he got involved in basketball to how he became such a dominating rebounder. Enjoy!

It's finally here! The documentary that goes behind the scenes of one of, if not the, best teams to ever play in the NBA. From Pippen's contract problems to MJ making the transition from North Carolina to Chicago, this was exactly what we needed! We give you our thoughts and takeaways from the first 2 episodes.
