Pesach Shaini & Lag B’Omer always come together in the 5th week of Sefira.

The difference between them.

Lag B’Omer is GREATER then Pesach Shaini - 

Through the Revelation of פנימיות התורה , the Torah of רשב״י, Moshiach will come there will be no more death in the world!!

That’s why the students of R’ Akiva stooped dying on לג בעומר!!

מאביו של הרבי זצ״ל - בהעלותך.

דבר אל בני ישראל לאמור איש ע״י יהי׳ טמא לנפש...ועשה פסח לה׳

ביאור -  פסח שני ולג בעומר חל תמיד ביחד בשבוע החמישית דספירת העומר.

ומבאר החילוק ביניהם, 

בפסח שני יש מצב של טומאה וכו, וצריכים עצה לעשות עוד פסח, אבל עדיין הטומאה קיים.

משא״כ לג בעומר - הגילוי של פנימיות התורה , עי״ז יבוא הגאולה העתידה , ואז בלע המות לנצח - וזהו הרמז ב לג בעומר פסקו למות, שלא יהי׳ עוד מיתה בעולם!!!

The Zohar writes Vol 3, 145a. (Brought down in Alter Rebbe Shulchon Uruch)

The kohanim should raise their hands to shoulder level, for the Priestly Blessing may be recited only with raised hands. They should raise their right hand a little higher than their left hand. 

Regarding the requirement for the Kohanim to spread and raise their hands, the Zohar explains:

When the Kohanim spread their fingers down here on earth, it arouses the Shechina above to descend and rest on the Jewish People. There are other instances when this applies, and this is the reason for Lulav and Shofar both being done with the fingers. (Zohar, Vol. 3, 145a.)

Questions:

1. Why is the right hand specifically raised over the left hand?

2. Why are the Mitzvos of Lulav and Shofar used as an example?

3. Why does the Zohar switch the order of these Mitzvos as they appear in the calendar from Shofar (Rosh Hashanah) and Lulav (Suk- kos) to Lulav and Shofar?

Bamidbor

דֶּגֶל מַחֲנֵה אֶפְרַיִם לְצִבְאֹתָם יָמָּה

The legions under the division of the camp of Ephraim were to the west.

וְעָלָיו מַטֵּה מְנַשֶּׁה

Next to him, the tribe of Manasseh.

(Bamidbar, 2:18 and 20)

There is a fascinating piece in the Talmud, in which these verses play a foundational part. The discussion centers around the Shulchan in the Beis Hamikdash and the requirement to place an offering of frankincense on it each week.

Abba Shaul says: There, in the space between the two arrangements (of the Shulchan), the priests would place the two bowls of frankincense that accompany the shewbread. The Sages said to him: But isn’t it already stated: “And you shall place pure frankincense upon [al] each arrangement, that it may be for the bread as a memorial part, an offering made by fire to the Lord”? The verse indicates that the frankincense is placed upon the shewbread and not next to it. Abba Shaul said to the Sages in response: Isn’t it already stated: “And next to him [alav] shall be the tribe of Manasseh”? Just as the preposition “alav” in this verse means that the tribe of Manasseh pitched camp next to the tribe of Ephraim and not upon it, so too, the preposition “al” means that the frankincense was placed next to the arrangements of the shewbread.

Driving Questions:

The verse brought as proof from the camping arrangement of Ephraim and Menashe is the third of the four groups, with Yehuda’s camp and Reuven’s camp appearing beforehand. Why did Aba Shaul skip over those and specifically quote this one?

ביאור המשנה (מנחות פי״א משנה ה) אבא שאול אומר , על השולחן בין שני סדרי לחם הפנים , היו נותנים שני בזיכי לבונה שנאמר (אמור כד, ז) ״ונתת על המערכת לבונה״, על פירושו סמוך, ומביא ראי׳ מן הפסוק ועליו מטה מנשה, שחנו אצל וסמוך לשבט אפרים.

שאלה:

למה הביא אבא שאול ראי׳ מפסוק ״כ״ ועליו מטה מנשה, ולא מפסוק ״ה״ הקדום ״והחנים עליו מטה יששכר״, או מפסוק יב “והחונים עליו מטה שמעון״?

- בחוקותי

לֹא־מְאַסְתִּים וְלֹא־גְעַלְתִּים לְכַלֹּתָם

I will not despise them nor will I reject them to annihilate them.

(Bechukotai, 26:44.)

The Zohar explains;

The word לְכַלֹּתָם is missing a ‘Vav.’ (The standard spelling of this word is לְכַלֹּותָם.) What's the reason (for this change of spelling)? The word without the ‘Vav’ can be seen as an indication to the word לְכַּלה  - for my bride. Meaning I will not “reject them” because they areshe is the love of my soul and I am beloved amongst them.

The parable for this is as follows: A person whose intended bride lived in a foul smelling tannery market. (a place where bad-smelling skins are processed), iIf she had not livedbeen there, - he (the groom, searching for her,) would never have entered such a place. Now, however, that she is there, it looks to him like a perfume market, where all the good smells in the world are.

Here, too, "and even so while they are in the land of their enemies," which is like a tannery market, "neither are they despised nor rejected" because she (the Jewish People) are beloved to me and it is pleasant like all the good smells in the world.

Question:

Why is this world compared to a Tannery Market?

ממושבותיכם תביאו לחם תנופה שתים שני עשרונים וגו׳ (אמור כג, יז)

From your dwelling places, you 

shall bring bread, set aside, two [loaves] [made from] two tenths [of an ephah]; they shall be of fine flour, [and] they shall be baked leavened

(Emor, 23, 17)

A) What is the significance of the two loaves of bread?

B) Why was this offering specifically bread, and not Matza?

Hinted in the Torah - 

On the word לא - Lo’ in the posuk of

אשר לא צוה אותם״

The “Trop” or musical cantillation note for reading the Torah is known as the Mercha Kefula - “a double note”!!

כאן תיבת לא במרכא כפולה , ובפרשת תולדות בברכת יעקב ויבא לו יין כתוב "לו" בתרי טעמי – מרכא כפולא, 

דיעקב עירב מים ביין (כמ"ש בזוהר ח"ג קפט, א), 

משא"כ נדב ואביהו שתו יין חי, ולכן כתוב לא" , שלא הי' כמו ביעקב וכו'

What is the connection between a bad wife and tzara'ath?

Explanation:

Shlolom Bayis is ענג

Tzara’ath is נגע

ענג - נגע = Same letters
