The training wheels come off as rookie hosts Ryan and Elizabeth join forces for the first time to give Lewis a well-deserved night off on this Tuesday's edition of Short Shifts. They cover a smorgasboard of injury and outjury news, with returns from Anthony Cirelli, Zach Benson, Dougie Hamilton, Jamie Benn, Joseph Woll, and Joey D'Accord, injuries to Matthew Knies, Charlie McAvoy, Simon Holmstrom, and seemingly all of the Toronto Maple Leafs natural centres. They then take time to wax poetic about their underperforming home teams in the Oilers and Maple Leafs before taking some accountability on takes from last week's episode about Sean Monahan and the Nashville Predators. Finally, in honour of the rookies taking over Short Shifts this week, Ryan and Elizabeth finish off with a Rising Rookies segment, analyzing recent jumps up the lineup from Marat Khusnutdinov, Connor McMichael, Gavin Brindley, Axel Sandin-Pelikka, Danila Yurov and Dalibor Dvorsky.
