A few of my growing up years were spent in an area that didn't have any persons of color living there. At that time I was voraciously listening to a lot of music including many great black artists. I talk on that and my later path as a musician and how it all formed my outlook on race in America.

The protests in the wake of the murder of George Floyd have resulted in press and politicians to warn against the "evils" of descending in to anarchy....which, they define as chaos. Anarchy is not chaos and "descending" in to it would be the best case scenario.

Creative people often employ bits of things found by mistake, improvisation, brainstorming or just messing around. Is that as valid an approach as the purposed, planned composition or construction? Can the two methods work side by side?
