Shots Gotta Fall: A Penn State Basketball Podcast

It's time for our game by game prediction of the big ten slate. Evan and Steve go through all 20 games and give their expected outcome for the upcoming season.

We also recap some media day comments by Coach Rhoades, give our thoughts on the brand new preseason KenPom rankings, and give our bold predictions for the upcoming season.

In a couple weeks, we'll be back to preview the opening week of the season!

Now that the full schedule for the 2026-27 season is out we are back!

Today we breakdown the non-conference schedule in our annually-recurring game of Name That Conference and we set the tone for how we each see this season shaping up in year 4 of the Mike Rhoades era.

We'll be back in a couple weeks to break down the Big Ten schedule and wrap up our preseason predictions with some bold predictions.

As we open our 5th season of SGF we wanted to spend this episode talking about some PSU hoops-adjacent quotes that are ruffling a few feathers both locally and nationally and react both to these quotes but also to answer the question: how did we get here?

We talked about so much on this episode that we decided to shelve the natural follow-up conversation about where PSU goes from here into part 2 coming next week!

We have returned to catch you up on the latest (and greatest?) Penn State Basketball news as we continue through the off-season. Do the new additions change the calculus for this program?

We also talk about more national news including the departure of Dusty May from the National Champion Wolverines and the expansion of the NCAA tournament.

Finally, a small geography lesson takes shape during discussion of the FIFA World Cup.

The 2026-27 Penn State roster is nearly complete so we're back to recap the comings and goings and introduce almost entirely new faces for the upcoming season. We'll talk about whether or not we think the transfers out are stepping up or stepping down with their new homes and we'll elaborate on how we feel this roster compares to last year's.

The regular season came to an end this week, not with a bang but with a big whimper. Penn State gets blown out at home on senior night and struggles to score at Rutgers, going 0-2 on the week. Unlike last year, there will be at least one more game for this Penn State team and we preview the start of the Big Ten Tournament in Chicago on Tuesday. Before that, we answer the question: have you seen enough of the Mike Rhoades experiment?
