To open the series, we discuss the summer headlines, emerging carnival stars, a bit of banter about some leading recing pundits and preview the time honoured Group 1 CF Orr Stakes taking place this weekend at Caulfie.d

Phillip and Chris get into the Champions Stakes Day Group 1s, a bit of Five Diamonds sorcery from Rosehill and then give their views on the current composition of the Melbourne Cup undercard.

On today's episode, the boys wrap up the Group 1 action from the Derby Day meeting and then preview the race that stops the nation!

Back in time for the VRC Carnival of 2023, join experts Phillip Georgios and Chris Vernuccio as they look at the Group 1s at Flemington, as well as the undercard and the big Golden Eagle for 4yos at Rosehill Gardens.

The Group 1s in Australia are just about wrapped up with Think About It and King Colorado taking the chocolates at Eagle Farm’s biggest meeting.

The boys then put on their top hats and tails to analyse the chances of Australia’s four competitors at the big meeting at Royal Ascot and take a stroll down memory lane in the Final Furlong to reflect on past Aussie glories at the famous carnival.

Damien Oliver added another major to his impressive catalogue in the twilight of his career, as the big fancies were nowhere to be seen in the Queensland Oaks. Meanwhile, elsewhere, there were a couple of impressive debutantes in Victoria.

This week is all about the culmination of the Queensland carnival, the Stradbroke Handicap, JJ Atkins and the staying features the Q22 and Brisbane Cup.

Kovalica confirmed his status as the star staying 3yo of the winter with a dominant win in the QLD Derby, rocketing up the markets for the Spring Carnival features.

Meanwhile Think About It and Hawaii Five-Oh laid down their credentials for the Stradbroke Handicap.

On this week’s show, hotpots Zaaki and Altivo both sunk in different circumstances, while the Maher-Eustace crowned its dominance of the SA carnival.
