Welcome to Neon Nights show #014 "2 Hour Synthpop Special".
"Sometimes I feel I want to...run away"
As the dust was settling in the late 70's and the punk era was drawing to a close, there was a new sensation beginning to take hold. All over the world Boys & Girls picked up drum machines and synthesizers and created a new sound...
In this weeks show, hosted by yours truly John von Ahlen, I'm lucky to have not one hour, but TWO hours to present you with some of the world's finest synthpop
It was really hard to pick just 2 hours worth of songs, when there is just so much to choose from. I look at all the songs that didn't make the list and I can feel that we will definitely be doing another special again in the future!
I've tried to pick at least one track from some of the pioneers and icons of synthpop. Legends such as Kraftwerk, Yazoo, The Human League and Soft Cell are included. Hopefully you might find a few surprises there. Please send me an email for requests and I'll try my best to play them on future shows.
Also, as of next week Neon Nights will air at 7pm and A Touch Of Pink will return at 6pm. Welcome back Dick!
