It’s happenin’ all over again with our “Lonnie Gordon Megamix” – created by Costa Lakoumentas for Neon Nights.

US born & Bronx raised, Lonnie released her first single – a cover of First Choice’s “Let No Man Put Asunder”,  which resulted in a minor club hit.

For her follow up, “Happenin’ All Over Again”, Gordon collaborated with Stock Aitken & Waterman & the results were legendary. The song is rumoured to have been originally written for Donna Summer, but Gordon was offered the track as Summer “never found” the time to get back to London for the recording. The single was released in Jan 90 & it peaked at No. 4 in the UK Singles Chart, and became a huge hit around Europe & Australia.

The planned follow-up single, “How Could He Do This To Me”, was stupidly scrapped (and never released until years later), and the ballad “Beyond Your Wildest Dreams” was released instead.  The single peaked at No. 48 basically killing all momentum to project Lonnie.

Gordon then went on to release her debut album’s title track “If I Have To Stand Alone”, which limped in at No. 68 in the UK resulting in her debut album, to criminally receive a limited release (& to rave reviews) in Europe, Australia and Japan.
