Missouri U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt is honoring the 1960 Missouri Tigers, a team that went 11-0 and beat Navy in the Orange Bowl after Kansas later forfeited its win over Missouri. Schmitt recently got a Senate resolution passed recognizing the Tigers as the national champions, and he’ll honor the team at halftime of Saturday night’s Mizzou-Troy game. The NCAA, however, still recognizes Minnesota and Ole Miss as co-national champions for the 1960 season.
Senator Schmitt joined Bill Pollock on Show Me Today to talk about that 1960 team and the current state of college football.

If your water bill suddenly doubles or triples, you might assume the utility company made a mistake. There could be a much simpler explanation, and it could be costing you hundreds of dollars.
Kimberly Palmer with NerdWallet recently had a water bill that topped $1,000 for three months, compared with her normal bill of about half that amount. She called the utility, had her meter checked, and eventually discovered a leaking toilet. A $300 plumbing repair could potentially save her about $1,200 over the course of a year.
Kimberly joins Show Me Today to talk about what to look for when your water bill suddenly jumps and some simple ways to bring that bill back down.

Missouri Life Magazine writer Chuck Lyons tells the story of James Eads and the bridge that still carries his name.
