Yesterday, a meteorite exploded into the sea by the Canary Islands. The loud noise generated by the trajectory of the luminous object alarmed residents in the area. There were also fires that were triggered by debris that fell from the sky. These space rocks are getting much closer to the earth and with a greater frequency which may mean that something out there—something huge is pushing debris our way. This has always been a problem for scientists and astronomers whereby a massive asteroid could be hiding behind the Sun and appear suddenly, clipping us or directly hitting us.
