The hosts discuss three episodes from Jem and the Holograms Season 1: a charity concert benefit where the Misfits try to muscle in, a trip to China to recover magical earrings, and a ski resort vacation that turns into a mystery. They cover plot holes, character moments, favorite songs, and what works and doesn't in each episode.

Nicole, Aimee, and Mike dive into IDW Publishing's new Jem and the Holograms #1, featuring art by Sophie Campbell and writing by Kelly Thompson. They discuss the 12-cover variants and holographic foil box set, explore the origins of the Gem Star earrings and Synergy, and share thoughts on the band's character designs and personalities. The episode includes character bio breakdowns and sets up excitement for issue #2 featuring the Misfits.

Em, Amy, and Nicole dive into the Starbright arc—Jem's first movie deal with producer Howard Sands. When Pizzazz's father buys the studio and gives Eric control, chaos ensues as the Misfits take over the production and Jem and the Holograms are sidelined. The trio breaks down the film's turbulent production, the Misfits' sabotage, a serious subplot involving one of the Starlight Girls facing blindness, and how the Holograms ultimately make their own film. They discuss character moments, plot structure, animation choices, and rate the three-parter.

Hosts TFG1Mike, Amy, and Nicole dive into the first five-episode miniseries that launched Jem and the Holograms 30 years ago. They discuss The Beginning, Disaster, Kimber's Rebellion, Frame Up, and Battle of the Bands—exploring the show's surprisingly complex plot, packed storytelling, soap opera pacing, character development, and the setup of the central contest between Jem and the Misfits. The hosts highlight what worked, nitpick animation and continuity quirks, and share their genuine enthusiasm for how much story the series crammed into those opening 22-minute episodes.

Christy Marx, creator and head writer of Jem and the Holograms, sits down to discuss the show's 30th anniversary and her current work. They cover her role in game design at Zynga, her writing for DC Comics including Birds of Prey and Amethyst, and her cameo in the upcoming Jem live-action film. Marx also discusses her ideas for reviving the animated series, the lasting impact of Jem on its fanbase, and her craft as a writer working across animation, comics, and games.
