The session in which we talk about one of our personal favorite nonprofits working to empower women and girls. Dining for Women is a global giving circle that promotes gender equity around the world through member education and the power of collective giving.

We both attend monthly potluck dinner meetings where we dine with like-minded women, learn about monthly grantees, and donate what we might have spent dining out. Funds go to grantees, and to support the overall mission of the organization.

The session in which we speak with David Bennion, a practicing immigration attorney. David founded the Free Migration Project in 2016 which represents immigrant clients, provides legal support and training to organizers and advocates, engages in public education, litigates in the public interest, and advocates for fair and open immigration laws. David coordinates the legal effort for the Shut Down Berks Coaltion's grassroots campaign to shut down the Family Detention Center.

The session in which we sit down with Shannon Bearman to discuss her growth as an 'Accidental Activist'. Shannon went from a reluctant Twitter newbie with 25 followers, to a strong community activist with a follower base of well over 45,000. This former social worker and mother of two is now running for a seat on the currently all-male Board of Commissioners in Haverford Township, PA. In this conversation, we talk to Shannon about the evolution of her passion for activism.

We're joined in this engaging episode by Dr. Jade Logan, Assistant Professor of Psychology at Chestnut Hill College. Dr. Logan lets us in on what it's like to teach cultural competence to young psychologists of varied races and backgrounds.

As part of training, psychologists work with Clinical Supervisors to guide them and encourage self-awareness. Supervision often includes difficult dialogue, and multi-cultural competence can be one of the most difficult but necessary topics to address.

The session in which we discuss Rape Culture with Arika Gold, a dedicated activist, and community organizer. The March to End Rape Culture (MTERC) is an annual event to raise awareness about issues related to rape culture and what is being done about it. The MTERC is a safe space for survivors and inclusive of all genders, sexual orientations, abilities, ages, and races.
