Shufflebox Podcast

I am back! Did you miss me? This week I discuss the fantastic revival of horror films that came out this year. The creative stories and humble beginnings of some of these films that turned into blockbuster hits have been absolutely fantastic to see. There are a couple of stinkers in there too. Enjoy this week’s show as I tell you all about some of favorite and least favorite horror films of 2026!

This week I wrap up June Belushi month with the 1988 action film Red Heat. This film not only stars Jim Belushi, but also start Arnold Schwarzenegger. USA and Soviet Union cops team up to take down the bad guy in this action packed film. I hope you enjoy this week’s episode!

June Belushi month is back for its 4th year! Here at Shufflebox Podcast, we have dedicated the month of June to the Man, the Myth, the Legend : Jim Belushi. This week we talk about According to Jim season 1 episode 8: The Turkey Bowl. Enjoy the show!

This week I talk about the 2026 horror film Hokum. This movie has had positive reviews and people are praising highly as a horror classic already. I just don’t see it that way, listen in and hear what I have to say. Enjoy the show!

This week I discuss the state of Denver and Colorado’s sports scene. It has been an incredible year in the Mile High City for athletics both professionally and collegiately. It was on the front of my mind this week and I absolutely had to share my thoughts. I will be doing movies again soon, but for now enjoy this week’s show!

This week I discuss the 2012 film Spring Breakers. It is a very sexy and provocative crime film set in the early 2010’s and it is unique that its visual story telling is key to making the movie great. Some people definitely fell differently calling the movie exploitative, while others praising it for being empowering. Regardless of how you feel, this movie will have you quoting the catchy line “Spring Break Forever!”

This week I discuss the audio horror film Undertone. A24 does it again with this film! Another original idea with very small budget making it big after only being released for a short period of time. I give kudos to the production and creators of this film for achieving something almost nobody does. The film was great and I hope you enjoy the show!

This week I discuss Black Snake Moan. I never saw this movie when it originally came out and I thought it was going to be genuinely terrible. It turns out you should never judge a book by its cover or a movie by its poster. The music and acting in this film is great, although the subject matter is slightly lacking. I hope you enjoy this week’s show!

This week I review Hustle & Flow. I watched this movie way back when it originally came out and I’m revisiting it 20 years later. This film definitely holds up and means even more after watching it again. The themes are fantastic, the story is awesome and the music is undeniably phenomenal. Enjoy this week’s show!

This week I talk about the 2026 film Cold Storage. This movie sounds horrible but it is actually a lot of fun and very enjoyable. It was made during COVID and passed along to a smaller production company so it is not getting the recognition that it deserves. Check it out for yourself and enjoy this week’s show!
