Shufflebox Podcast

This week I review another viewer recommended film, “Starship Troopers.” This Sci-Fi action drama is outstanding and I had a lot of fun watching it, even though this movie comes with a lot of criticism. Enjoy this week’s episode!

Happy Independence Day from Shufflebox! This week we have a viewer requested film Independence Day: Resurgence. I thought it was quite fitting given the holiday weekend, but is this film as good as the first film in the franchise? I wouldn’t know I’ve never seen the original film. I hope you enjoy the show this week and be sure to have a safe holiday weekend!

June Belushi month 2025 wraps up with the 1987 film Homer & Eddie. This film is definitely different, but does it stand out enough to be a classic…..I don’t know about that. Regardless, Jim Belushi stars in this film and I watched it, so get ready for this week’s episode. We will reunite with Jim Belushi once again in 2026.

This week we discuss S1 E7 of According to Jim “Cheryl’s Old Flame.” This episode touches on parenting and broken promises, but it also teaches us that we all have our flaws. Enjoy the show as June Belushi month rolls on.

If you had an opportunity to change your life for even just a moment would you do it? This week I review Mr. Destiny as June Belushi month continues. This film mirrors others that are very similar but it is a good family film with laughs and tears. Enjoy the show!

Welcome back to Shufflebox’s annual June Belushi month celebrating the actor Jim Belushi! We start this year with Season 1 Episode 6 of According to Jim titled “The Crush.” I also provide a movie recommendation that is non Jim Belushi related. Enjoy the show this week and enjoy June Belushi month!

This week Marcello joins the show to discuss The Holy Mountain. This fever dream of a movie is known to be a deep discussion piece and many people who study film love this film…..I however, do not. Enjoy Marcello being back for this episode and enjoy the show!

This week we look at the 2014 horror movie Clown. It released in the US during the killer clown phase, but that was all a coincidence. This movie has a decent story but the pacing is what made it fall short. The cast was great and was not clowning around by any means. Enjoy the show!

Do you like movies where appliances attempt to take over the world? What about a movie where a fat guinea pig almost causes the collapse of humanity by eating cake? What about a movie where the whole sound track is the same 2 Black Eyed Peas songs over and over again? Well luck for you this movie has all of it! You couldn’t “G-Force” me to watch this film again.

This week I review the classic 1977 film Smokey and The Bandit. This movie was so much fun to watch and the car chase scenes still hold up nearly 50 years later! Enjoy the show.
