To begin the first episode, Jorie and Kevin give an introduction of themselves. Jorie is an investor and wholesaler, while Kevin has been doing real estate for about eighteen years. Both are from Miami.
The guys met at a conference in Dallas at which Max Maxwell inspired them both to put themselves out there on social media. We hear about the challenges that Jorie and Kevin faced when they began trying to do this. Of course, now they are glad that they decided to get started.
Kevin had never done a real estate deal outside of Florida, but just before going to the Dallas conference, he landed a property in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. When the two guys spoke for the first time, Kevin learned that Jorie was already active in this market. The two agree that meeting each other was a godsend. Additionally, Jorie recalls that the event was great overall despite his original thoughts that it would be full of people upselling.
After returning to Miami, Jorie and Kevin went to another conference and hung out together at a hotel pool party during much of the weekend. They talked about business and joint ventures that they should be pursuing. Jorie says that it’s more fun to invest with people that you enjoy, and Kevin adds that doing so is good for when the deals don’t work out.
Kevin discusses how he sees many people that begin investing, don’t experience instant success, and then quit. He is passionate about making investing simple in future episodes so that anyone can gain an advantage by listening. Jorie remarks that the landscape of America is changing, with the days of going to college, getting a job, getting a pension, and retiring are coming to an end. We then learn about what types of guests we can expect to hear in the future.
Jorie came up with the name of the podcast because he knows a lot of aspiring investors who get stuck in paralysis of analysis. He gives insight on people who research for months and months instead of actually making an investment, becoming stuck in the study phase. Jorie states that when he started investing, he had nothing except his kids and had no choice except to shut up and invest.
Kevin says that neither of the guys got any handouts to get where they are today, and while it wasn’t easy, it’s possible for anyone. Jorie spent some years in college and changed his area of study a few times. He ended up not graduating and expresses that colleges don’t teach what this podcast will. Jorie declares that one of the keys to success is having a positive mindset.
A deal fell through on Kevin just yesterday, which he foreshadows along with revealing other topics that will be discussed in the future. He says that he’s learned more from the deals that didn’t happen, which Jorie conveys his thankfulness for. The guys are investing every day, and mention that this is the very reason that they didn’t start a podcast sooner.
