Shut Your Face

Another loss. Just what we wanted. The Commanders saw the stars align as they now sit at pick #2 in the 2024 NFL draft. Things could change next week but this is where you want to be if you’re Josh Harris and the new regime. This week we discuss the rookie QBs and which coaching vacancies around the league the team will be competing with to land the next big head coach.

It’s the same story all over again. Bad defense, bad offense, bad coaching. The season is all down to how Sam Howell looks from here on out and this week was one of his worst. This week we discuss the fluid situation that is the Sam Howell debate. We spend half the pod talking about the in-season tournament in the NBA and how the Lakers have been celebrating it. _____________________________

The Commanders are putting together one of their worst seasons. They’ve had their moments but over the last three weeks they are showing their true colors. This team is bad. This week we discuss what we saw from the game, what we think of Sam Howell as now, and how good really is Terry McLaurin?

In the biggest game of the season we got the typical 2023 Commanders performance, good offense with bad defense. Hard not to make this game (and the rest of the season) all about Sam Howell and his development. Howell showed at the end of this game that he is capable of developing. If the team has any hope this year it’ll start this week against New York.

Always tough to win against Belichick. The Commanders go to 4-5 on the season after a great performance by Sam Howell. The defense came alive a bit but more importantly they got the win and it keeps them in the thick of things for the 7th seed. This week we discuss it all and look forward to a pivotal matchup against the Seahawks in Seattle.

You never know what you’re going to get with the 2023 Commanders. A competitive game with 31 points put up by the Commanders offense but still they come away with a loss. This week we discuss the crossroads that Ron Rivera and Josh Harris are in with whether to trade away assets or let it ride for a chance at the playoffs in 2023.

Pathetic display by the offense in a game the Commanders really needed to take on the road. This week we talk about the fallout from the loss to the Giants. Would we blame ownership for not moving on from Ron midseason? Should the Commanders consider selling off assets if they lose to Philly this week? We end the show talking a little NBA as we prepare for the start of the season on Tuesday. _____________________________

Back to .500 after a well-played game against the Atlanta Falcons in Atlanta. The Commanders defense finally showed some promise. This week we discuss the game and start looking forward towards the next couple games for the team.

Officially back down to earth. The Commanders took one in the chin against a Super Bowl contending Buffalo Bills team. Sam Howell was really bad and the rest of the team wasn’t great either. This week we discuss the Commanders blowout loss and where to go from here with a relatively soft schedule after Week 4.

What seemed like one of those “burn the tape” games turned out to be one of the great comebacks in franchise history. As rollercoaster of a game as can be. This week we discuss Sam Howell’s first road victory. The Commanders showed what they are capable of on both offense and defense. We look forward to next weeks big test at home against Buffalo.
