Did you know in Japan you can get married by submitting a signed paper to your city hall? You don't need a marriage commissioner or conduct a ceremony to be officially married. All you need is a document signed by you, your partner, and your 2 witnesses. I honestly prefer that way, but hay, who am I to judge the Canadian way right?

You do not need travel insurance if you are a Japanese coming to Canada to study or work. Or at least that is what I believe. Sure, dentists cost a lot more in Canada than in Japan but if you are an international student going to college in Canada, you really don't need to purchase travel insurance in Japan.

I love the Facebook marketplace. It not only lets you save money but be sustainable by recycling staff. Unfortunately, this service is not available in Japan but I hope it will be one day. This is such a great service and should be available everywhere!

Wildfire is very common in Canada in terms of natural disasters. I had no idea 55% of the wildfire was caused by people. I heard about the Llyton news and was very surprised. I hope everyone is safe now.

Today's topic is the Canadian Indian Residential School. Yes, it was influenced by the news of 215 children found near the Kamloops residential school recently. It was very shocking at the same time it reminded me of this sad history. We all should know about what happened to the indigenous people, not to hate but to remember and not to repeat history.

Today's topic is about career culture in Canada. It is very interesting to see the differences between Japan and Canada. I have never worked in Japan and but I see and hear a lot of differences from Canadian culture.

I have personally never thought I would live outside of Japan. Even when I came to Canada to finish my high school and college education, I have always thought I will go back to Japan after my graduation. There are so many things that I have never thought of when I decided I will stay in this country. Living away from your family is not a joke. I want you to know the things you would have to think and/or plan when you decide to live FAR away from your fam.
