🗣Everybody has a voice and
it takes only one person to start a revolution 👊
So M.Pence came to visit Iceland.
Our First Lady, or Mrs. President as I also like to call her, Mrs. Eliza Reid, wore a white pant suit. A silent but powerful nod to her “sisters” in the US Congress who wore white pantsuits to show the gender discrepancy in Congress (only 23% women).
A month before Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez got sworn in, being the youngest woman in American political history to become a senator. She wore white to honor suffragettes and she said I do it for “those who came before her and those who are to follow”. Pence went to Höfði (historic house, Gorbatsjov and Reagan had a meeting there some years ago) to have his political meeting.
Surrounding Höfði were 🏳️🌈LBGTQIA+ flags🏳️🌈 like everywhere you looked, they were not to be avoided. They were flown by businesses in the area.
It just felt like the world was made a slightly better place.
Like we all have a voice and something to say, even if we are not saying anything outloud.
We have to take a stand for a better world.
Guðni, our president, had a rainbow bracelet and so did Eliza. You can see photos of it highlighted in many famous handshakes like Guðni and Putins.
I have met the president and yes, I did call him by his first name, Guðni.
Because that’s how we rock here in Iceland.
🇮🇸We stand for equality, freedom and peace ✌️
SEE YOU IN GOTHENBURG SOON!
