The City of Prescott will celebrate the opening of the Granite Creek Corridor trail improvements with a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 10 a.m. at 232 N. Granite Street. Visitors will park near the Sam Hill Warehouse facility, then take a short walk to the ceremony. The Humboldt Education Foundation (HEF) helped to start the Orchestra program for Humboldt Unified School District (HUSD) in partnership with Paula Stewart and a small team of volunteers. This program started in 2018 and kept going through COVID continuing with the mission to help connect students with needed instruments. The Orchestra program has now spread to all levels through HUSD including elementary, middle, and high school! In this supportive role, HEF helped to fund instruments and materials for students who participate in the program and in October is gifting over 70 instruments worth over a thousand value! The 26th Holiday Light Parade & Bonfire Festival returns to downtown Prescott on Saturday, November 25, 2023, and is now accepting applications for parade entries. The deadline is Friday, October 27, 2023, to get your application submitted. Application fees start at .00 up to .00, depending on the type of entry.
