Every time I tried to speak about what I endured, I’d feel like I was being too much. Too emotional. Too broken. Too complicated.

But here’s the truth no one tells us:
Our stories are not burdens.
They’re bridges.
They’re blueprints.
They are sacred testimony that we were here — and we survived.

I want to take you back to a moment I’ve never forgotten.
I was alone in my bedroom. It was 2 a.m.
I hadn’t eaten properly in days. I couldn’t stop crying.
I felt like I had lost everything — my home, my voice, my dignity.

And in that moment, something cracked.
I wasn’t strong anymore. I wasn’t pretending. I was raw. Exposed. Undone.

But here’s the secret no one tells you:
That moment of unraveling? That was the start of me finding myself again.

Psalm 106 is often referred to as a psalm of national confession. It recounts the ways Israel forgot God’s faithfulness, fell into destructive patterns, and cried out when the consequences of their choices became unbearable. And yet — over and over again — God remembered them.

He didn’t abandon them.
He heard their cry.
He moved with compassion.

And that’s what struck me deeply.

Because in my own story — through domestic abuse, betrayal, courtrooms that dismissed my voice, and being evicted from the very home I paid for — there were moments when I felt forgotten too.

Forgotten by systems.
Forgotten by people.
Forgotten even, I thought, by God.

But Psalm 106 reminds us of this powerful truth

God knows everything about you — your pain, your past, your fears, your strength, your silent screams. And He still chooses love. He doesn't turn away from the broken pieces; He sits with you in them.

In your story, you were unseen by the system — unheard by the courts, unheard in your own home. But Psalm 139 reminds you that you were never invisible to God. He saw you. He sees you still. Not only does He know your struggle, He is actively rewriting your story with mercy and purpose.

For survivors of trauma, Easter can stir a complex set of emotions. It might remind us of what we’ve lost. The pain. The betrayal. The moments we were buried in silence.

But it also reminds us that even the most broken parts of our lives can be transformed. Just like the stone was rolled away from the tomb, we, too, can emerge from the spaces that tried to keep us hidden.

You see, healing is not a straight line. It’s more like a series of little resurrections.
We rise when we speak.
We rise when we set a boundary.
We rise when we choose to believe in our worth—especially on the days it’s hardest to see.

One of the most beautiful things about spring and Easter is the light.

After months of darkness—literal and emotional—we begin to feel the warmth return. We start opening the windows. Breathing deeper. Trusting a little more.

If you’re in a dark season right now, I want you to hear this:
Light always comes back.
Not because we force it. But because it’s part of life’s rhythm.
Even the earth knows how to heal—slowly, steadily, in its own time.

And so do we.

If it feels right, close your eyes for a moment.
Take a breath in.
And as you exhale, I want you to picture this:

A version of you… standing tall, wrapped in light, barefoot in the grass, free.
She has known pain. She has known silence.
But she is rising.
She is not what happened to her.
She is who she chose to become.

That version of you—is you.
This Easter, let yourself believe in your own rising.
Even if it’s just one inch forward today.

This Easter, let the message of resurrection be more than just a story—it is your story too.

To every soul who has been bruised by betrayal, silenced by violence, or pushed out of the place they once called home:
You are not forgotten.
You are not broken beyond repair.
You are not where your pain left you.

The tomb was real. So was the darkness.
But so is the rising.

Resurrection doesn't mean the past didn’t happen—it means it no longer defines you.
It means that even if you've been cast out, counted out, or forced to start over, you are still being called forward.

This Easter, may you find power in your stillness.
Strength in your soft heart.
And sacred hope in knowing that even the stone was rolled away.

No system, no silence, no shame can bury your worth.
You are the miracle in motion.

To the woman rebuilding from the ground up—

Breaking the Walls refers to both the metaphorical and literal walls survivors are forced behind—walls of silence, shame, fear, denial, and systemic failure. This title boldly suggests the urgent, necessary action of tearing those barriers down to reveal hidden truths and push for justice, healing, and awareness.

For too long, the walls around domestic abuse have been built with bricks of silence and cemented by stigma. Behind those walls, cries go unheard, bruises remain unseen, and souls break quietly. Breaking the Walls to Expose Domestic Abuse is not just a call to action—it’s a declaration of truth. It’s about dismantling the systems, silences, and societal judgments that protect perpetrators and punish survivors. This is about truth-telling, visibility, and radical compassion.

In this honest and unfiltered video, I speak from the heart about the painful reality of being made homeless — not by chance, but through systems and individuals that weaponize lies, abuse, and control to erase your voice and steal your worth.

At 43, I know the truth: homelessness is not a reflection of failure — it’s a symptom of a broken system. A system that punishes survivors, protects abusers, and turns opportunity into oppression for those who dare to speak up.

But let me be clear: I am not what happened to me.
I am who I choose to become — and I choose truth, dignity, and voice.
