As people, we spend a lot of time trying to process the people that are in our lives that mean us well. It is of the utmost importance to us to know who actually has our back and will fight for us. We spend a lot of time reflecting on who may be toxic in our lives and needs to be removed. The true question is how much time do we spend actually considering ourselves to be the number one suspect.
The things that gravitate to us are a direct reflection of what we may be placing out into the universe. You will find yourself in a circle of unfortunate events if you never stop to look at yourself. The repetition of seeing toxic people replaced with more toxic people will become the norm if you don’t look at the source.
You Are What You Attract!
The hardest battle you will ever face in life is yourself. It is the person in the mirror that we try so hard to avoid. Most times people prefer to blame outside forces for the mishaps in their lives. The reality is people cannot do anything to us that we do not first allow. If we do not take the time to address the person in the mirror that may be toxic, then we will continue to attract people in our lives that cause more toxicity until we explode from within.
You Allowed It!
It can be a challenge to look inside ourselves to discover what is in us that is allowing people to treat us a certain way. But even more so, what is in us that attracts certain people to our inner circle? There is usually something we are failing to acknowledge about ourselves. We would much rather use sex, alcohol, gambling, social media, drugs, and so much more to avoid the harsh reality of facing ourselves.
They Cheated. You Stayed. They Lied to You. You said ok.They Put their Hands on You. You forced yourself to say it’ll never happen again. They treated You as an Option. You said I’ll change their mind. They didn’t care about you. You allowed it.
The Silver Lining.
We have control over so much in our lives. It starts with becoming the person that we want in our lives. The universe will react. It is a process and will not happen overnight. You can waste your whole life trying to change someone else. Or, you can invest in a guaranteed solution of looking at yourself first and evolving. You cannot change anyone. Just think, if it is hard enough for you to change your own bad habits when you sincerely want to, then why do you think you have the power to change others? Yes, you can be the spark in their lives that makes them want to change themselves. But, they have to want to!
You would do yourself a lot more justice and less time wasted if you take the time to improve yourself. The right people will then gravitate to you when you take the proper time to heal yourself first. We all carry some form of pain, regret, or even anguish towards the things that life has shown or done to us. You must dedicate your life to always improving yourself as the flesh is weak. A lot of the things we fight to change are deep within us and it can come out when pushed against a corner. It is an everyday struggle and battle to defeat the flesh. However, it is possible!
