Silva and Gold

In true Gentlemen’s Guide fashion, this week we bring some class and some trash for discussion.

First we review a challenging entry from Godard: PIERROT LE FOU

Then move to something that was a different sort of challenge for us… Fred the Hammer in BOSS NIGGER

We took a week off for some of that vacation business, but now we are back with at the very least a very long episode title!

We dive into a stacheless Burt film W.W. AND THE DIXIE DANCEKINGS and one of Andy Sidaris’ classics HARD TICKET TO HAWAII!

Silva & Gold crosses borders and deals with more daddy issues this week!

Come listen to us discuss RED RIVER from 1948 and LONE STAR from 1996!

OK, we are back after only TWO weeks away this time. We are getting better all the time!

This week we are covering a Silva and a Gold since we missed 175 last time. JOHNNY COOL from 1963 gives us a young Mr. Silva and BLACKJACK from 1998 gives up Dolph working with John Woo!

Dig it!

Apparently we are a once a month show now! Hmmmm

We picked a couple genre classics this time to discuss… one that each of us had not seen. Loaf chose MASTER OF THE FLYING GUILLOTINE and Zom went with HIGHLANDER!

Enjoy

We’re a little less heavy this week with a couple random choices once again.

This week we decided to tackle UHF from 1989 and KITCHEN STORIES from 2003

Loaf was bored this week so he decided to hop on a solo train and ramble on about manga, what he’s been watching, and spoil two things that were a lot of fun this week… WRESTLE MANIA 31 and INTERSTELLAR.

Unrelated entirely except Loaf enjoyed them both while being a fatass on his couch

He is a black hole of entertainment!

Join us this week when we discuss

THE BIG SLEEP from 1946

and

ALL ABOUT MY MOTHER from 1999!

We are changing the format slightly and just going to a more free form play it by ear style… each one of us will pick a film to review every week instead of shoehorning in doubles. We’ll try this and see how it goes. Feedback is always welcome!

So this week the films to be covered are VICTIM from 1961 and THE CASE OF THE BLOODY IRIS from 1972.

Loaf is still nowhere to be found, but maybe he will be dug up from his stinky musty tomb soon and be reanimated as Loaf 1.1 beta.

Until then, Zom powers on and covers a couple films that probably have no double relation whatsoever… RIO BRAVO and STALKER!
