Silver Screen Video

In this episode, we dive into the hauntingly dystopian world of 1984, the 1984 film adaptation of George Orwell’s classic novel. We break down the film’s stark visuals, powerful performances—especially John Hurt’s portrayal of Winston Smith—and how it captures the oppressive atmosphere of Orwell’s vision. How does the movie compare to the book? What themes still resonate today? And does the film's chilling depiction of surveillance and thought control feel even more relevant in the modern age? Join us as we analyze, critique, and discuss the enduring impact of 1984.
