SPACE PAINT -pt.2 - Alternate version (by Silvio Vinci)
Silver dust upon the window,
Saturn hanging in the rain,
I can hear the planets turning
Like a slow and distant train.
You were sleeping in the blue light,
With the moon across your face,
And I drew a line around you
Just to keep you there in space.
Space paint,
Running down the walls of night,
Colours nobody can name,
Burning softly out of sight.
Space paint,
Cover every scar we made,
If the universe is empty,
Let me fill it with your shade.
Radio waves across the darkness,
Old transmissions coming through,
Someone singing from a lifetime
That I almost shared with you.
No direction, no horizon,
Only stars beneath our feet,
Two small shadows slowly turning
Where the dark and daylight meet.
Space paint,
Running down the walls of night,
Colours nobody can name,
Burning softly out of sight.
Space paint,
Cover every scar we made,
If the universe is empty,
Let me fill it with your shade.
Maybe time is only colour,
Maybe love is only light,
Maybe everything we painted
Disappears into the night.
Space paint…
Across the endless blue,
Space paint…
I still see traces of you.
