Simple Broken Mind Podcast

Kevin is join by the super friends team of Scott Gasikowski, Diana Maturano, and Robin Clayton to discuss the MCU 2nd TV show Falcon and the Winter Solider.

Superheroes! They’re all the rage these days. And while we love a good superhero movie, it’s a dangerous and difficult job, and it wears you down. Once you reach a certain age, you have to turn in the cowl and take up something less likely to result in serious injury. Like, say, the law?

This week on the Simple Broken Mind Podcast, Kevin and Matt take a break from our usual frivolity to tackle a serious legal procedural: Adult Swim’s Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law! Exhibit A: All your favorite Hannah-Barbara cartoon characters in serious legal trouble. Exhibit B: A surreal law firm of former B-List Superheroes and Villains. And what about the brand new spin off show Birdgirl?! You’ll just have to tune in to find out.

Kevin is joined by former co-host Kurt Nolin, cellist Sarah Rubio-Rogerson, and Jon from The Kavalier. Talking about the finer things in life weather that luxury products, self care or culture.

It’s a tough time, high school. Between the tests, the homework, the cliques, and the underground drug cartel that just iced your best girl, it’s a miracle anyone makes it out of there alive. On this episode, Kevin is joined by Matt Eitzen, Robin Clayton, and Nicole Berastequi to discuss the 2005 film Brick, a hard boiled detective story set in a California high school. So grab your fedoras and your trench-coats. This is going to get ugly.

As we (hopefully) near the end of Pandamnit 2020-2031, Kevin is joined by Matt Eitzen, Robin Clayton, and Barrett Nash to discuss the 2020 movie Locked Down, a movie about quarantine, relationships, and a diamond heist, for some reason.

Now that the MCU Phase 4 got kicked off with WandaVision Kevin is joined by marvel fans Diana Maturano, Robin Clayton, and from the Terrors and Tacos Podcast Michael Federico. Excelsior true believer!

This week Kevin and Matt are joined by Shea Sterling of the Arts District Podcast and by Madi Calhoun of Unseen Sumpreme: The Non-Essential Movie Podcast. We’re taking The Art of Self Defense, starring Jesse Eisenberg, and how this strange, darkly comedic indie film dismantled toxic masculinity with karate! HI-YAH!!!!

What does a campy sci-fi horror movie from 1984 have to do with our world today? As it turns out, quite a lot! Joined by Matt Eitzen, Chris Ramirez, and Diana Maturano, we discuss John Carpenter’s They Live! along with pro-wrestling, Keith David, and the unavailability of bubble gum! OBEY!

During the Pandammit Kevin Lamel watched all of Schitt's Creeks just to realized as the Roses were quarantine from the lifestyle they knew, the world was quarantine as well. Kevin is joined by actress Robin Clayton, movement performer Kwame Lilly, and Veronica Young from podcast from Hungover With V to talk about the quarantine of Schitt's Creek's family, the Roses!

Kevin is joined with Jaquai Wade Pearson, Ian Mead Moore, and Robin Clayton to talk about how social media can be a great promotional tool, but how can also be the root of evil!
