In today's episode, I share some simple nutrition hacks that have helped me make better food choices and maintain a healthier lifestyle. As someone who has struggled with exercise and eating habits, I've found that these tips can make a big difference over time.
First, try to avoid processed foods whenever possible. If you do consume processed foods, use an app like Yuka to scan the barcode and get a score out of 100 on how good or bad the product is for you. Aim for products that score 50 or above (green), and replace lower-scoring items with healthier alternatives.
Second, learn to distinguish between genuine hunger and eating out of habit. Ask yourself, "Am I hungry enough to eat an apple?" If the answer is yes, you're likely truly hungry. If not, you might be eating for the sake of eating.
Third, be mindful of portion sizes and give your body time to feel full. Set a 20-minute timer when eating snacks or addictive foods, and cheque in with your hunger level after the timer goes off.
By implementing these simple hacks, you can make better food choices and improve your overall health and well-being.
