Don't get me wrong, having goals is important. But this is where most people stop. I learned long ago after years of frustration and disappointment to fall in love with the system rather than the goal..
Well, if you think about it...a goal is really just a future destination. And if it's an audacious one, it'll require a lot of consistent, daily commitment. Remember, it's a marathon not a sprint. Which is a perfect example. Running a marathon is a great goal.
I decided to sign up for the 13 hour Ironman Triathlon in France back in 2012. And the only reason I had a hope in heck of achieving it - was by falling in love with the process towards making it happen. Putting in the work, every day became a ritualized routine which ultimately lead to the goal being achieved.
