👇 If you love hearing about really unique projects happening in Israel - and happen to be a whisky fan - you’re going to enjoy the next episode. I spoke with Shawn Soffer, marketing manager of "Milk and Honey" - Israel’s first and largest whisky distillery.
Shawn told me about the short but fascinating history of the place, which began operating despite everyone who thought making whisky in Israel was a strange idea. She also explained how Israel’s unique climate allows them to produce excellent whisky in just three years and even win prestigious international awards - and the story gets even more interesting!

👇 In this episode, I’m joined by Inbal Arnon, a Hebrew teacher who has been living in Germany for many years.
Together, we explore some fascinating cultural differences between Israel, Germany, and Spain — from everyday habits and social manners to bureaucracy, insurance culture, and the way people use language.
It’s a light and engaging conversation that reveals how small details can reflect big cultural contrasts.

👇 In today’s episode, we’re talking about the kibbutzim: how they began, how they changed over the years, and why they’re making a surprising comeback.
We’ll go back to the young idealists who built the first kibbutzim over a century ago, explore their challenges with swamps, hard labor, and economic crises, and see why today, in a world of individualism and technology, many Israelis are once again drawn to community, simplicity, and meaning.
A story about Israel’s past, present, and future, and about a unique way of life that keeps evolving but never gives up.

👇In this episode of News in Hebrew, we’ve got three stories you won’t want to miss.
First, in the United States, an old restaurant chain tries to reinvent itself for a new generation, but its loyal customers just want things to stay exactly the same.
Then, in England, a woman gets such a strong craving for a childhood chocolate bar that she hops on a plane and flies over 4,000 kilometers just to get one.
And finally, in Israel, two professors get bats drunk. Sounds crazy? Maybe. But that wild experiment actually won them an international award.

👇 In this episode, we explore four popular Hebrew expressions inspired by summer—or at least by the spirit of it. Like in all our idiom episodes, each expression comes to life through a story or example that makes it easy (and fun!) to understand.
Don’t be misled by the title—this one’s a real treat!

👇 In this episode, I talk with my good friend, Gil Posner, who’s currently working on a very special project – opening a brand-new ice cream shop in Barcelona with flavors inspired by the Jewish kitchen.
We’ll talk about the heat, air conditioners, and what made him choose to open an ice cream shop in the first place.
Gil, who has extensive experience in the restaurant world, will share the differences between running an ice cream business and managing a restaurant, the unique concept behind their shop, and the exciting challenges of finding the perfect flavors.
It’s going to be super interesting – you won’t want to miss this one!

👇 In this episode of News in Hebrew, we’ve got three fascinating stories for you:
First, from British Columbia, Canada — a woman starts receiving nonstop calls from strangers claiming they’ve found her lost cat. But her cat, Mauser, hasn’t gone anywhere. He’s been chilling on the couch the whole time.
Then, to New York, where Sotheby’s auctioned off the largest Martian meteorite ever found — for 5.3 million dollars. But the real headline? A rare dinosaur skeleton sold for over 30 million after a dramatic bidding war.
And finally, in Israel — the State Comptroller released a report about the serious lack of shade in public spaces. Spoiler: it’s not looking good.

👇 Kibbutz Nirim is an agricultural community with many fields, orchards, green lawns, and trees. It’s also my home — the place where I was born and lived until the age of 30.
I have family there, friends, and many good memories and experiences I've gathered over the years.
Unfortunately, Kibbutz Nirim is located very close to the Gaza Strip, and on October 7, 2023, it was one of the places that Palestinian terrorists attacked. The next day, the residents left the kibbutz and were evacuated by the state to a hotel in Eilat. Later, they also lived temporarily in Be’er Sheva.
And now, a year and eight months after the war began, the members of the kibbutz are finally starting to return home.
In this episode, I interview my good friend Erez Wolozhny, who lives in the kibbutz. He’ll talk about October 7, the joy of returning home, and the emotional complexity that comes with it.
This one’s close to my heart – I hope you enjoy it.
In the photo: A community planting of the first vineyard for wine production at Kibbutz Nirim. It took place in the western part of the kibbutz, near the perimeter fence. The planting happened shortly after the residents returned to the kibbutz, on July 1, 2025.
