My grandmother always said, "You just never know..." when something unforeseen happened. And all I could hear was her voice in my head this morning as I read through my prayer journal from last year at this time, and was taken aback by the things I had prayed for. Some are non-issues at this point. They never even happened. Others were answered in ways I had never imagined. And some were completely upended by the pandemic. In December of 2019, I just had no idea when I wrote out my prayers for 2020 what would be in store. Let's talk about the lessons of 2020 and not knowing what was to come, and how that affects us and our perspective going into 2021.

Now that I have two grown children, I have learned some pretty significant lessons along the way on our homeschooling journey. The best lessons learned were never in a lesson plan book or even a textbook. I am so glad we focused on God and our family first as well as trusting God to lead us in all things.
