Matthew 6: 19-21

I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas! Hopefully you got something you had been wanting and can enjoy it for a spell. But, today I want to consider not earthly treasures, but heavenly ones. 

Matthew 1: 19-21

You've heard the story of Jesus' birth right? If you haven't just listen to any news source this season and it will be covered in depth. But there is a small detail people tend to overlook about Joseph. I want to bring the detail to the forefront today and see what we can learn from it. 

Luke 2: 48-52

Sometimes we don't understand a passage right off the bat, and that's OK. But what do we do when this happens? Today we look at a passage where Jesus says something and the meaning is lost on those He speaks to. We can find the truth of salvation and His doctrine if we dig deep enough, and we will use this passage to set the scene for us.  

Luke 14: 25-27

When I first read this passage, I had trouble figuring out what Jesus meant here. I'm supposed to hate my parents, wife, family... this didn't seem like a message Jesus would be preaching. Last night during a small group session, we studied this verse and I thought I would share what we talked about with you guys today! 

John 13: 6-7

We know the Lord watches out for us and answers our prayers, but sometimes we don't get the answers we expect. Sometimes we get no or not yet, and those responses can be difficult to understand. If we look closely at today's passage, we can see an example where Jesus does something people don't understand until a later date, and understanding this can help us find comfort in answers we don't understand. 

Matthew 5: 43-46

We all have enemies, we all have people we don't really care for. But how do we treat these people? Do we show them the same love and respect we show others? The Bible certainly expects us to love them and treat them right, and in today's episode we will discuss Jesus' instructions on dealing with those we do not like. 

1 Corinthians 15: 57-58

Victory in Jesus, what a beautiful song of praise. We are assured victory over sin and death several places in the Bible, but this passage also has some practical advice to help us in our battle against sin in this world. 

John 2: 18-22

Have you ever experienced an answer to a prayer or petition to Jesus that was delayed? Maybe it took several years, but eventually the prayer was answered. Today I want to cover a beautiful passage where Jesus foretells a sign requested by the Jews, but it took several years to come around. And when it did, His disciples remembered and believed the Word. We need to make sure we remember our prayers so we can be thankful as well! 

Ecclesiastes 9: 14-18

Do we listen to the sources of wisdom in our life? Wisdom is a gift from God, so we should listen to the sources around us. Sometimes, those sources are hard to find and even harder to listen to; but the juice is worth the squeeze. 

Proverbs 5: 21-23

We have an all-seeing Lord, and that is a great blessing. We should all get in the habit of trusting His paths and guidance, and today's discussion will cover one of the key passages that encourages us to follow His path for us.
