  • Understanding Sense of Being and Belonging

Welcome to the Simply Straight Talk show!

What does having a sense of belonging and a sense of being mean to you? Many of us struggle with finding our identity in life as well as where we fit in with others. In this episode, Reggie is discussing how misunderstanding your sense of being and sense of belonging can lead to emotional conflict within yourself.

Many people are unable to maintain healthy or long-term relationships with friends, family, or significant others, because they have yet to identity their real sense of being and belonging. In some cases, a person may treat them as one with identical definitions. Confusing the two can lead to unbalance emotions with regards to your career, relationships, and personal growth.

After listening to the show, share your thoughts or experience in dealing with finding your sense of being and belonging.

Welcome to the Simply Straight Talk Show with your host Reggie Maddox.

Have you noticed how many people are sharing their thoughts on relationships and why you should avoid them? This episode dives into the emotional aspect of how people arrive at their conclusions regarding relationships. Often people’s behavior is not calculated into the facts of their ideas about certain things in life. It seems so much easier to blame an entire category rather then understand the deeper reasoning for our beliefs.

  • Conversation With A Black Woman

The Simply Straight Talk Show would like to welcome and thank Demi the host of Hey Black Girl, Let’s Talk. Demi joins the show to share her thoughts on the relationship between black men and women. Demi’s "Hey Black Girl, Let's Talk!" provides empowering conversation for black women. She also has a free eBook for women titled," Global Etiquette for Black Girls" you may request your free copy by emailing her at [email protected]. Additional information on how can follow and support Demi’s podcast has been placed after the show notes.

“Conversation with A Black Woman” focuses on the challenge’s black women face. As black men we are often labeled as the enemy of our black women. When in fact we want to support and see our black women rise with love. On the other hand, I wonder if we minimize the concerns of the black woman. Not intentionally as we both are engaged in the same struggles.  Have we help to create the stereotypes of black women? As a black man I know the challenges I face in the corporate world and in society. But once again am I lacking understanding regarding the challenge’s our black women face or as men are, we assuming black women face less obstacles because they are women.

In this episode Demi speaks openly on this topic. She also answered multiple questions from me on the relationship of black men and women. We also talked about the challenges of dating in today’s world, including the stereotypes and myths surrounding black men and women.
