In this episode I share about how God invites us to praise Him for His promises at the time the promise is given, not waiting until it comes to full reality. We can know that when God promises something, the promise is real and true. Some promises require our participation, but some will come to pass regardless of what we do or not. And God loves to see us delight in the gifts He gives us, including the gift of a promise when it is first spoken. There is a tension in the space between now and the future reality, but God invites us to let joy be our way of life. When you are feeling weary in that waiting period, ask God for encouragement. In this episode I share a conversation I had with God about making Him my first priority. As we put God first, everything else falls into place. Some things are not going to fit, but God guides us into what is important and aligned to the purposes He planned for us. God is doing a new thing and He invites us to participate in its unfolding. God’s way is light—not darkness or heavy burden—and He invites into it as a way of life. We can release our burdens to Him and shine His light to the world around us.

In this episode I talk about how God calls us precious and He is like the best father we could ever imagine. He longs to give us good gifts and sometimes that takes time to prepare the gift itself, and prepare us to be ready to receive. When God gives us gifts they are often both for us and for the world around us. God calls Himself the Father of lights because we are lights shining His love in this dark world. He is that source of light and love within us. The more we spend time in His Presence—soaking up His love-light—the brighter we shine. And, together, we light up this dark world.

In this episode I share an analogy God gave me of how we are invited to ride the wave of His glory. God is the source of the wave’s power and the one directing its movements. We are invited to marvel at its beauty and ride along by participating in God’s love and power working in our lives and the world around us. We get to choose whether to participate but fear and pride can get in the way. Fear can cause us to do nothing because we are afraid of making a mistake, but God will pick us back up if we fall. The more we trust that God is in control, the more we can enjoy the ride!

In this episode I share journaling about keeping God’s plans as our priority, which includes allowing enough space in our schedules to share His love in our own unique ways. Many of us struggle with staying too busy, but the truth is that we’re not going to get everything done and too many things we spend time on are actually insignificant (like worry). But when we make time to both receive and share God’s love, we transform the world around us. Part of that is also asking—and expecting—God to meet our needs. Do you need patience, grace, or strength for the day? Ask and expect God to provide.
