November 20, 2023 E14: HEARING GOD THROUGH DREAMS (PART 1)
In this episode I give an introduction to dreams as one of the many ways we can hear from God. I share about the different types of dreams we may have, such as soul dreams that process emotions and things we may not be consciously aware of. I talk briefly about nightmares or dark dreams, emphasizing that it is possible to break free if you struggle with these (message me if you want more information). Prophetic or spiritual dreams is how I describe the insight that God communicates to us which can be an easier way to hear, especially when it comes to concepts that are outside of our rational thinking. Dreams are highly symbolic and require interpretation, which should always be done through God. I ran out of time, but Part 2 will share more resources to help you start recognizing the symbols and themes in your dreams. Much of what I share has been gathered from these resources, combined with my own experience of dreaming and communication with God. One resource I want to mention here is Ben Armstrong as some of the dream types I describe came from his teaching (@thebenarmstrong and https://linktr.ee/thebenarmstrong).

November 06, 2023 E13: BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD
In this episode I share journaling that reminds us that God is waiting for us in each day. He longs for us to connect with Him in stillness and to refresh us with His Spirit throughout our day. Psalm 46:10 says to “be still and know that I am God” which I think is a key lesson for how to do this life. Practicing stillness can look differently for each of us, but when we are feeling depleted it is often a reminder to reconnect with God in this way. The Spirit of God is within you and that Spirit is someone you can go to for refreshment any time and any place you need it.

October 23, 2023 E12: THE EYES OF YOUR HEART
In this episode I reflect on what it means to see with the eyes of your heart. So much is beyond what our minds can comprehend, but the heart exists in a way that is beyond. There is power in emotions and we can connect with our heart through visions, or seeing images in our imagination. The book, Unleashing Healing Power Through Spirit-Born Emotions, discusses this idea in depth, but we can experience this effect simply by bringing an old memory to mind and noticing the feelings tied to it (whether good or bad). I also talk about trusting that the path is already made and it is simply our jobs to walk forward, one step at a time. There is risk to step out, but as we trust that God is good we can learn along the way, and maybe sometimes those mistakes or detours are actually necessary parts to experience.

In this episode I share journaling about the importance of peace as a way of life. Finding time for rest and stillness isn’t another task to accomplish, but a process towards a way of being that is transformational to our core selves. God’s design for rest often seems upside down compared to the busy and rushing that is the way of the world around us. But as we can find small ways to add more enjoyment and stillness of mind and heart, we begin to see and hear more clearly. Peace isn’t an elusive goal or reliant upon some external force. Peace is a person and as close as God within you.

In this episode I share journaling about how God wants us to enjoy the journey and also receive from Him along the way. God never promised that the journey would be easy, but He is always with us and is our source for whatever we need. When we get so focused on the final destination or what is up ahead, we miss the special moments that only happen once. It is true that we will face difficulties, but we can receive from God first for ourselves and then give to others more effectively out of the overflow.

In this episode, the journaling I share is about how much God cares for us, preparing each day and enjoying being with us. God wants us to enjoy every day and we can be aware of His Presence with us whether we are delighting in the special treasures left along our paths or facing hard things that we wish He would fix. There are ways to this world that cause hard things, like the law of gravity is important to live on this earth but also has consequences. I don’t always understand, but I know God is with us and He can communicate just like a friend.

In this episode, I share journaling about the nearness of God and how He desires us to ask for things like wisdom and provision for our needs. Oftentimes we don’t realize how close God is because we have built up walls around our hearts as we live in this world. Those walls may have been protective and needed at one point in our lives, but when they stay in place they also block us from good things. As we open up more we can also connect with God through our asking, especially when that asking is aligned to the purest, most authentic parts of ourselves. I also share a little about my own struggle with understanding faith and how God can actually help us in our unbelief.

God has prepared a unique path for each of us, leaving resources along the way and orchestrating our own growing and preparing so we are ready for the challenges we face. Sometimes our path won’t look like others think it should, but we can choose to trust what we know to be authentically pure and true for ourselves. There is risk to choosing our own path, but there is also beauty when we are willing to move forward.
