Sometimes chasing a dream doesn’t always work out. Despite our best efforts and passionate zeal for what we are chasing, nothing seems to make sense. You have the talent, the perseverance, and the requisite hours of preparation, but you are hitting nothing but walls made of very hard surfaces. 

Perhaps you are chasing this dream for all the wrong reasons.

For example, popular contemporary Christian singer/songwriter Zach Williams wanted to be a rock star. Enticed by the illusion of stardom, he found that drugs, alcohol, and late-night gigs played around the world only left him feeling an inescapable void. Everything he thought he wanted in life failed to fill the yearning in his heart for something more. Desperate for change, Williams quickly became aware of his innate need for God’s rescue and love.

In doing so, Williams quickly learned that God has used broken people for a long, long time to do his work. And despite his best efforts to run in the opposite direction, Williams eventually realized that he was qualified and worthy to do what God had called him to do.

In his debut book, “Rescue Story: Faith, Freedom, and Finding My Way Home”, Williams gets candid about his journey from substance abuse to a life of faith, hope, and freedom.
