Shelley Luther is a walking miracle — and now she's also an elected official.
Luther, a former Dallas salon owner who made national headlines for defying COVID-19 lockdown orders, just won a seat in the Texas Legislature, capturing House District 62.
But it was her path before achieving electoral victory that captured the most attention. Luther was briefly jailed for keeping her salon open during the pandemic. Then, she faced a near-death experience. Luther recently spoke with Ian Giatti about her ultimate overcomer story.
Listen to Giatti break it all down and read the full story here.

Shocking new data shows a majority of practicing Christians, including pastors, admit to viewing pornography. Beyond that, a large share say they are comfortable with the habit. These findings come from a new report from Barna titled "Beyond the Porn Phenomenon."
"Even though practicing Christians were still found to view pornography less frequently than non-Christians, the gap between the two groups was only 14 percentage points," Christian Post reporter Leonardo Blair writes. "Some 54% of Christians reported viewing pornography compared with 68% of non-Christians."
Blair joins "The Inside Story" to explain the full results. Read more here.

A teenage girl announced she's leaving her high school after reportedly reading a story in English class that she said described an incestual sex scene. That student recently went to a school board meeting and delivered a passionate response to the reading, explaining how it made her and other students feel — and why she's concerned about young minds being fed such information.
The Christian Post's Ryan Foley joins "The Inside Story" to tell Billy Hallowell what happened, why it matters, and why he believes more parents and students are more vocally objecting to inappropriate sexual content in schools.

Victoria Sinis used to recruit women to sell their bodies on OnlyFans, but the strange fetish requests and pornographic content led her to question her career. It was an inner conviction that ultimately led her to Christ.

Amid the twists and turns of the 2024 presidential campaign have come newfound divides in the evangelical movement. Despite polls showing the majority of evangelicals still choosing former President Donald Trump over Vice President Harris, a new group called Evangelicals for Harris — an organization trying to buck this trend — has emerged.
And among those supporting this cohort is Jerushah Duford, whose mother Virginia "Gigi" Graham Tchividjian is the late Rev. Billy Graham's oldest daughter. As The Christian Post's Jon Brown recently wrote, Duford spoke at a recent Evangelicals for Harris event about her support for the Democratic candidate.
"Voting Kamala, for me, is so much greater than policies," she said. "It's a vote against another four years of faith leaders justifying the actions of a man who destroys the message Jesus came to spread, and that is why I get involved in politics."
