1 Timothy 18-20; We need to be constantly vigilant, trimming the sails of our faith so that we do not shipwreck our faith on the rocks of legalism or drift aside in sin. Jesus has promised us that when we take on his yoke it will be easy. While we trim the sails he is the wind and is blowing us homeward.

1 Timothy 1:8-17; Sin is the result of us trying to be autonomous instead of submitting to God's law. God, in his grace, has given us his Spirit to help us love him and love others (and thus fulfill the law).

John 8:31; 2 Corinthians 4:15; Every disciple is to make disciples. God's grace reaches more and more people as His people make more and more disciples. A disciple of Christ is one who follows Jesus, one who learns from Jesus and one who does the same things Jesus did.

Luke 16:9-13; Many have no financial or budgeting skills. God is the owner of all and has given stewardship of these things to us. We need financial skills to be good stewards. Be generous with what God has given you so as to sow into others' lives for the gospel.

1 Timothy 1:3-7; The charge of 1 Timothy is that we have the right belief worked out in right action with the right goal out of a right heart, for the glory of God!

1 Timothy 1:1-2; Paul is writing to Timothy to encourage him to keep the church standing on the Word of God and away from the cliff of false teaching that would lead to its destruction (being smashed like Italian pizza). All authority is in Jesus crucified - Lord of all.

Luke 20:9-19; Religious people look good on the outside (only). We need to examine our lives to see if we are pointing to Jesus or ourselves. We are all broken and in need of Jesus the healer. We can walk humbly and honestly together because we are all broken.

John 17:6-26; His people are of his word, are for his glory, are to be one people, are alienated from the world by the word, are to be a divine witness of unity.

1 Corinthians 2:11-14; The Christian life starts with the Holy Spirit, is indwelt with the Holy Spirit, is understood by the Holy Spirit, is lived out by the Holy Spirit and is strengthened by the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 4:17-32; Being Christ's means that things have changed and we are changing. We need to walk in the light, being a church that stands on the truth, speaks in love and puts off the things we used to be.
