Don't let the title fool you, we're not discussing the plot of A Cinderella Story. Today we're talking about taking risks. Despite our closeness we actually handle risk taking and making decisions very differently. In this episode we discuss the risks we've taken in our lives, our philosophies on what's worth it and if we have any regrets looking back.
Birthdays can include cake, presents and celebrations, but they can also stir up high expectations, reflection, and sometimes feelings of disappointment. In this episode we talk about birthdays and how we deal with birthday expectations and comparisons. Plus, in honor of Olivia turning 25, we talk about things Rebecca would tell her 25 year old self and things Olivia wants to focus on in her 25th year.
This week we’re talking about friendships, specifically when a friendship ends. Losing a friend can feel really personal and like a reflection on you. But is it always? Sometimes friends come into your life for a season, and we’re discussing it all on this week’s episode.
Childhood bullies and awkward teen romantic encounters can create deep insecurities. That self-doubt doesn’t always go away with age, and it can even be carried into future romantic relationships. We touch on what insecurities we developed at an early age, how getting into a relationship didn’t magically fix them, and what we continue to do to heal self-doubt.
This week we were inspired by World Mental Health Day coming up on October 10 so we decided to share our own experiences with mental health. We talk about some of our early struggles with mental health issues, our journey to getting ourselves in better places, and our coping skills. Of course we still laugh through it all, even when talking about the more challenging days as we remember how far we've come.
Today we’re talking first jobs and the life lessons (and trauma!) we gained from those early experiences. We each worked in different settings, yet but both of us managed to face some of the same challenges and insecurities in the workplace. How do you push back against negative formative work experiences to become more confident women in the workforce? In today’s episode we discuss the tools we use to move beyond insecurities and imposter syndrome.
They say comparison is the thief of joy, yet people can't seem to help themselves. In today's episode, we talk about comparison, specifically, how we've been compared to each other our whole lives. Despite being very different, the past 25 years have been full of people comparing us like we're meant to be the same person. In spite of this, how did we manage to move past it and not let it drive a wedge between us? How can you prevent the noise of others from infiltrating your relationship with your siblings or friends? Listen to find out!
