  • Jack the Ripper - The Oldest Cold Case in History

Jack the Ripper is the most notoriously known cold case in the world - everyone has heard of it. In the previous episode, I covered H.H. Holmes and the conspiracy that Holmes is Jack the Ripper - today, we are going to dive into what we know about Jack the Ripper and who is thought to be him besides Holmes.

Jack the Ripper had five canonical victims between August 7 and September 10, 1888, in the Whitechapel district of east London. All victims were within a mile of each other. And actually, at the time, the “Leather Apron” was one of the first names given to the killer.

America's first serial killer was known as a con-man and master manipulator. But Holmes had many skeletons in the closet - literally. Herman Mudgett changes his name later in life so the cons he committed in medical school don't catch up to him. Known as H.H. Holmes, he decided to build a murder castle with a very innocent facade of a pharmacy and other retail shops. The building includes a third-story hotel, where he prays on his guests.
