The episode covers the decades-old, now-closed cold case of the 1962 rape and murder of nine-year-old Carol Ann Dougherty inside St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church in Bristol Borough, Pennsylvania. Carol Ann was attacked and strangled in the choir loft after stopping to pray. The case remained unsolved for over 60 years.
