After ten years of work in the music business and twilighting as a bartender alongside the likes of Kenny Chesney, our guest today left Nashville for his homeland of Iowa. Rowdy Lind then managed the first Krispy Kreme to open in the Midwest. Yet, this well-educated and multi-talented man had yet to find his lane. That is until he saw an ad in the classified section of the newspaper that caught his eye. It read, “Do you like to drive? Do you like to have fun? Do you like to make money?” His answer was, “Yes, yes, and Yes!” The advertisement was from a Georgia-based company called Norton Transport, and as they say, the rest is history. Rowdy’s adventurous spirit found a home in Driveaway, and he will tell you that he’s still amazed that he gets paid to be a tourist. We’re pleased to welcome a longtime friend and true renaissance man to the show on this week’s episode of the #SixFigureTrucker.

Our guest today has the voice and the experience to sing along with Johnny Cash on his famous song, “I’ve Been Everywhere.” He’s crossed the deserts bare man, he’s breathed the mountain air, and everywhere he goes, he’s mesmerized by the beauty of this country. Born with a traveler’s spirit, Robert Regan spent years as an elite businessman in the corporate world before finding fulfillment in driveaway trucking. Now that he’s found driveaway, the man who’s been everywhere isn’t going anywhere soon. On today’s episode, Robert will say that he can’t think of another job that affords the flexibility, travel experiences, and financial dividends that he’s found in driveaway. And how can you argue with him? He’s been everywhere, man. Don’t miss a minute of this excellent conversation with Robert Regan on today’s episode of the #SixFigureTrucker.

Though we unashamedly extoll the life-changing opportunities within driveaway trucking on this podcast, we also seek to reflect on the challenges that surface in this industry. For example, there is always the potential for obstacles like inclement weather or mechanical breakdowns over the road. The driver’s response to issues like these will make or break them. Our guest today has learned to invoke what he calls the Serenity Prayer in moments of misfortune or frustration. As a result, Marvin Miller says that his glass is never half-empty. As he will teach us today, everything you face will offer a lesson or a blessing, and both can work to your advantage, depending upon your response. We’re pleased to welcome this 17-year veteran and his wisdom to the show! Tune in now to this episode of the #SixFigureTrucker.

Closing in on 75 years of age, you’d think our guest today would have his sights set on someplace warm and slow. Not Joe Abbott. His sights are set on the open road because, for him, retirement would be a step-down. He loves the view behind the wheel. So, with his conversion van in tow, this road warrior keeps them hot. Driving over 300 days a year, he has been a fixture in driveaway for 26 years. As such, he’s a man with the wisdom to share and stories to tell. We’re pleased to welcome Joe Abbott on today’s episode of the #SixFigureTrucker.

“A goal without a plan is just a wish.” This saying rings true in this space, as successful truckers don’t just wish themselves there. No, Six Figure Truckers are planners. They go hand in hand. But, as it turns out, there is something else that goes hand in hand with good planning. Patience. When a good plan goes up in smoke due to forces outside one’s control, their response is as important as their plan. If “a goal without a plan is just a wish,” a plan without patience is a powder keg. Countless variables in this business of trucking can disrupt a plan, but the key question is this: will they disrupt your peace?
We’re thrilled to welcome a driver today who has learned to roll with the punches and maintain his poise. It’s a poise that is most evident in how he treats others. Abdur Martin is kind. Moreover, he’s an ambassador for kindness and someone we can all learn from. Don’t miss a minute of our conversation with Abdur Martin on today’s episode of the #SixFigureTrucker.
