Their early 1980s run stands on its own as some of the greatest and most influential punk music ever made. But we are not talking about those records, we are talking about their widely reviled 1986 album Grave New World. We cover their legendary bomb of tour and try to figure out what led them to do this album. Will either of us take a contrarian stance and champion this record as a secret masterpiece? The commercial peak of metalcore was As Daylight Dies by Killswitch Engage ("KSE" for the fanz). We wrap our minds around this technically complex epic work and try to figure out some big questions. Is it mid? What are these songs about? What's going on in Sweden? How do you pronounce apocalyptic? We also take some time to shit on people who have seen more success than our entire bloodlines: Avenged Sevenfold. Terrible band. We didn't even bring up them being Republicans.

I left my microphone at my mom's place. I actually did some producing this time to make my laptop mic palatable but it's not perfect. Anyway, I'm think of pitch shifting my voice next time.

We laugh, we sing, we grip the monumental classic Jane Doe by Converge. To do this, we consider the glazing and d***riding that this album has received for decades. We talk about forgotten gems of 90s metalcore (both problematic and woke) and internecine band drama. Kaust really loves this album. He looooooves it.

We have decided to face the ever-changing monstrous genre that has haunted our lives head on. We're covering a series of foundational (or not) albums from metalcore to track the evolution of the genre. Starting off, we dissect "Progression Through Unlearning" from Snapcase. This was put out by Victory in 1997. We discuss the genesis of the genre before diving into this core masterpiece. Along the way we discuss the many faces of Tony Victory, the success and nuances of Hatebreed, and the fashion sense of mid 2000s scene kids

They said it couldn't be done. Nevertheless, we have become the first podcast to defeat the misogyny allegations. We are raising women's voices with Ellie joining us to talk about No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom. This was released by Interscope Records in 1995. It's a massive album, you know it, everyone knows it. It was fitting to end ska season on this. We talk about things and junk.

Everything in life is fleeting. The innocence of youth fades away, summer warmth abandons us, and your peers will have children and acquire debts. In turn, we sadly find ourselves in the penultimate episode of SKA SEASON. We have no recourse but discussing Mu330's final full-length "Ultra Panic", another Asian Man special. This solemn episode includes discussion of the nefarious Rivers Cuomo, crystals and energies, and literalness as a songwriting device.
