In this episode I talk about the pressure that a lot of writers put on themselves to be “perfectly poetic.”
Escape the trap of perfectionism and be raw! Share your emotions, be real and authentic and don’t be scripted. The poetic elements will come with practice over time.

As a poet you will learn that inspiration is often needed to be sought after. A great way to be inspired to write more, and become a better writer is by listening to great works of art.
I mention a few really excellent spoken word poets who have a way with words. Listen to their best work and look up the lyrics if possible

One of the most important things within a poem is the main point of your story. Your audience needs to understand what you are saying!
1.Compress your story into a 2-3 minute long poem starting out
2. Make sure your story is congruent
3. Share your poem with a trusted friend

Grab people's attention with your first few lines to stand out. Don't think to much about what exactly to write, just write!
Ask a question, raise your voice or create curiosity.
You can easily lose someone's attention, so you have a very short time frame to intrigue them.

You might have a passion to write about certain topics and share them with others, but you have no idea who you are writing to. Maybe you didn't know that it is extremely important to write to a specific group of people.
In this episode I talk about the "criteria" for finding your ideal audience. Finding your audience can be pretty simple. You need to ask yourself a few questions about who you enjoy serving the most, who God has used you to encourage the most and what you are the most qualified to talk about.

Before writing a poem there should be an in depth understanding of who your poem is for. Uncertainty is a big issue when it comes to writing. Knowing the pains/struggles and deepest desires of our audience gives us clarity on which words, themes and stories to use within our poems. Competence can give you a lot of confidence when writing. In all your getting get understanding (proverbs 4:7).

We need to understand the sound and language of heaven. We pray for God's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven but If we don't know what heaven's perspective is, we can't partner with heaven.
Heaven is waiting for you to step up and be the skillful poet that God has called you to be. You have the spirit of God living inside of you, he is the game changer and the x factor for shifting an atmosphere.
In this episode I talk about....
1. Not making your gift all about you
2. God's reach is far greater than ours
3. The power of releasing the father's heart
4. Stepping outside of the four walls
