Atlanta Falcons (7-9 last year)
Picked up Todd Gurley over the offseason (one-year contract). What can he do?
Matt Ryan - how much does he have left in the tank?
A lot of injuries last year - could bounce back.
Not a lot of defensive standouts. A couple good guys (Tak McKinely, Dante Fowler, Deion Jones) but no real gamechangers. Middle of the road to bottom third of the league in most defensive stats.
Fantasy standpoint - It’s frustrating to have either one of their stud receivers.
Carolina Panthers (5-11 last year)
It’s all about Christian McCaffery!
No more Cam. Teddy Bridgewater picked up in the offseason.
Do they want him to just be a game manager? Or something more?
No more Luke Kuechly - retired in January.
New coach - Matt Rhule
2012 assistant offensive line coach for NYG
2013-2019: HC in college (Temple, Baylor)
New Orleans Saints (13-3 last year)
Drew Brees - still trucking along, but has started to drop off.
2019 - 1,000 less passing yards than the year before, 100 less attempts, only five touchdowns less.
Past three years - has started to decline.
Fantasy - Kamara (Latavius Murray if you want to handicap), Michael Thomas.
Defense - great at stopping the rush in 2019 (91.3 ypg allowed, 4th in the league); average everywhere else. Might be enough in this division!
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-9 last year)
Tom Brady - what can he do? Most weapons he’s probably ever had, but a declining skill set.
Probably the most well rounded set of skill position players in the division (Evans, Godwin, Gronk, OJ Howard)
Defense - not bad! Suh, Vita Vea, JPP on d-line, Shaq Barrett, Lavonte David LBs.
Need to improve passing defense (third worst in NFL last season by YPG). May help not being in so many shootouts, but wouldn’t hurt to try and get a big-name DB if possible.
Rushing D - first in the league last year by YPG. (73.8)
