Phyllis Biffle-Elmore is the passionate and brilliant author of "Quilt of Souls", a memoir with extrordinary potraits of black women born before and after the civil war.

At the age of four, Phyllis was sent to Alabama to be raised by her grandmother, Lula Horn, who made beautiful quilts out of the clothing of her loved ones.
