Slam Radio

Ahead of his debut EP on @Soma, we invite Magna Pia on the latest Slam Radio episode. Hüseyin Evirgen is a composer, producer and DJ. He is one half of Cassegrain as well as works on his own solo material as Magna Pia since 2016. He studied composition, piano and electronic music at the University of Istanbul and Mozarteum Salzburg. He has composed music for theatre, dance performances and mixed media for almost two decades. After meeting Alex Tsiridis at the Red Bull Music Academy in 2008, they formed the techno duo

“Cassegrain”. Since their first release on Mikrowave in 2010, they have worked with a variety of labels such as infrastructure NY, Prologue, Killekill, Ostgut Ton, Counterchange and Semantica. In 2016 they formed their own imprint called “Arcing Seas”, which is now home to both collaborative work as Cassegrain, solo projects as well as guest artists. As Magna Pia, Hüseyin Evirgen focuses on providing combative dance floor trips and unorthodox sonic moods with subtle 90s techno references while he keeps his interest in combining contemporary techno music with archaic symbolism.

Phara is a kid of the 90’s whose music breathes in industrial chaos and exhales warehouse vibes. With a sound so powerful, dense and direct his career took off by storm. With a full album as a debut release you can surely make some waves, and that’s exactly what happened. With the first ever LP to see the light on Black Sun Records, a label that kickstarted the careers of renowned artists such as Blawan and AnD, Phara gained immediate support around the globe.

Paàl - also known as one of the founders of the label Voitax - is an artist that devotes all of his passion to the sounds that he creates and the music that he supports. His label has amassed a steady repertoire of output from artists such as Makaton, Mondkopf, Cressida, Rory St John and Swarm Intelligence - some of which have become

core components of the label.

The focus in Paàl’s creations heavily lies on the quality of his sound and the art piece itself as an outcome of his

unexpected jam session. The DJ and producer places emphasis on all crevices of the electronic music spectrum, which is reflected in both the tracks that he produces and the sets he pieces together from his extensive record collection. Paàl opts to engage the crowd’s lust for the unknown as opposed to feeding them an easy way out and has fast become recognized as a seasoned digger.

French techno music producer Julien Saillenfait a.k.a Deapmash began producing music 5 years ago at the age of 19. His prior releases on Bedouin, THEM, Soul Notes, Boysnoize Records and Leisure System have drawn inspiration from DJs and producers like Randomer, Clouds, Blawan and Tessela.

Getting supports from the most respectful djs, Deapmash fastly built up his reputation in the industry. As an artist unafraid of collaboration, he's worked with Aquarian, Joefarr, Lag, Kastil, Madame, Raito and Benjamin Damage to great effect.

On Friday 20 July 2018 Deapmash's remix of Nicolas Bougaïeff was released on Max Cooper's Mash label.
