Hey Goons! This week on our Patreon Pics, Kevin helped us kick off August with his suggestion, the ever polarizing and fatally fantastic Freddy Vs Jason!!! Before we get into the film, we discuss a little bit of Houston Horror Film Fest, Greg Nicotero’s involvement in an Angry Orchard Jason Voorhees spotting, and what Niecy Nash and Glenn Close are up to these days.  Then we segue into Freddy Vs Jason— a film we all anticipated since Jason Goes to Hell. A lot of people had comments on this back in the day, but I do believe it’s developed a cult following since then, and even if you didn’t enjoy it, it still has its merits. Join us as we dive into Robert Englund’s last appearance as Freddy in FILM, why Robert Yu has issues with Katharine Isabelle, and all the chisme and fun in between.  This is an early 2000’s time capsule, and we are happy to run down that twisted memory lane (while acknowledging its problems and celebrating its upsides).  Thanks for this pick, Kevin, we had a lot of fun going back!

Slashers Podcast – I STILL Know What You Did Last Summer... Because I Never Shut Up About It

This week on Slashers Podcast, things get personal as mega-fan and full time HOTTIE Mikey takes the reins for a special deep dive into the new I Know What You Did Last Summer movie! Joined by Ade and Lance, Mikey finally gets his moment in the sun—or should we say foggy dock—as he gushes, gripes, and gleefully guides us through the latest installment in the iconic slasher franchise.

Does the new film honor the legacy of Julie James? Is the Fisherman still a formidable figure of fear? And most importantly... does Jennifer Love Hewitt step it up from the original?

From nostalgic callbacks and new twists to brutal kills and Gen Z updates, this episode is packed with obsessive detail, passionate defense of the original two flicks, and the ultimate question: did this sequel/reboot/legacyquel actually hook us?

Whether you're a longtime fan or just wondering what all the Love Hewitt hype is about, this longer-than-usual episode is a love letter to 90s slashers, teen screams, and Mikey’s forever scream queen.

🎙️ Slashers Podcast: "The Boy Behind the Door" (2020) Review – Patreon Pick for Leslie! 🎙️

This one’s for you, Leslie! On this special Patreon-Pick episode of Slashers Podcast, Mikey, Ade, and Lance take a harrowing trip into the dark and suspenseful world of The Boy Behind the Door (2020). This indie horror thriller pulls no punches as it follows two young boys trapped in a terrifying child abduction scenario, and the gut-wrenching lengths they go to in order to survive.

We break down the intense performances, especially from the young leads, the claustrophobic atmosphere, and the brutal emotional toll this film takes—on both its characters and its viewers. Plus, we explore how the film taps into real-world fears and flips genre expectations.

Expect plenty of heartfelt discussion, dark humor, and our signature tangents—including how The Boy Behind the Door stacks up against other kid-centric horror films, and what we’d do if we were stuck in a twisted house of horrors (spoiler: not cry as much).

All that and more, just for you, Leslie. Thank you for being such a loyal member of our spooky little family. You truly slash!

Welcome back to another Patreon Pick this July, Goons!  Today, we are talking A24's Bring Her Back at the request of our long time Patreon member and good friend, Cam!  The film premiered in May and was written and directed by the Phillippou brothers–the same duo who brought us the uber popular and highly successful first film, Talk to Me.  The film stars Billy Barratt, Sora Wong in her film debut, and Sally Hawkins, who you may know from The Shape of Water.  This one is super intense; it’s currently streaming for a price, so we recommend you watch before you listen, as there are spoilers aplenty.

In addition, Bloody Disgusting came out with a top 10 list of horror this year thus far, so we decided to give you our own!  What are your faves this year?? Happy July! Summers hot and our Patreon members are HOTTER

This month we are reviewing films requested by our lovely Patreon members.

The Slashers crew—Mikey, Ade, and Lance—delve into Danny Boyle’s high-stakes sequel, 28 Years Later (by request of GUNN).

Picking up decades after the original outbreak, the film brings fresh emotional depth through Spike, a 12-year-old survivor from a quarantined island. The hosts explore how this new perspective enriches the Rage-verse, praise the evolution of the infected (especially the chilling “Alpha” variants), and laud standout performances from Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and newcomer Alfie Williams.

They break down Boyle and Garland’s signature cinematography and eerie score by Young Fathers, noting immersive soundscapes and gritty visual aesthetics. While they celebrate the film’s emotional core and inventive creature design, they also critique tonal shifts—especially in the climactic stretches, which swing between brutal horror and surreal camp.

So Tune in now and let us know how you felt about 28 years later!

🎙️ Slashers Podcast: “They Fart Now? Tremors 3: Back to Perfection (2001)”

This week on Slashers Podcast, Mikey, Ade, and Lance head back to Perfection Valley to tackle Tremors 3: Back to Perfection—where the Graboids are mutating again, Burt Gummer is back with more firepower than ever, and yes… the Ass-Blasters have officially entered the chat.

We dig deep (pun intended) into the franchise’s glorious practical effects, low-budget charm, and the growing mythology of Graboid evolution—from subterranean killers to airborne nightmares. Is this straight-to-video sequel a blast of nostalgic fun, or has it finally jumped the worm? Plus: we discuss Burt Gummer’s status as a horror-action icon, the shift to SYFY-style creature design, and the film’s mix of camp, comedy, and carnage.

Whether you're here for exploding monsters, desert survival horror, or just want to hear us debate the logistics of Graboid mating habits, we’ve got you covered.

So gas up your 4x4, grab your Reba records, and don’t forget—when they start flying, it’s already too late.
