Sleep Apnea continues to be one of the most prevalent of undiagnosed sleep disorders that require medical treatment to resolve. Among those treatments are Oral Appliance Therapy we covered in Part 3, and Sleep Studies we covered in Part 4 however once you've made the decision to begin your sleep journey what should you do to prevent getting a huge insurance bill.
Noted Sleep Technologist Drew Copeland, RPSGT, CCSH | Clinical Sleep Health Educator and member of @sleepbetternyc(Instagram) sits with us to share not only his experience being 17 years in the sleep industry but tips on how we can elevate our education about the pre-, during and post stages of receiving a medical device to treat OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea) he also discusses the costly mistakes people make by not being their own Sleep Advocate.
Research, Read, Be Informed, and utilize what you learn to ensure that you are following sound medical advice and that the best possible solution is being provided for you. Don't just assume that the solution the doctor is recommending is the only solution ask for second and third opinions. If a device doesn't work for you find out how you can return it and not remain with a whopping insurance cost.
