Episode 80: The coal region of Pennsylvania is full of dark, chilling tales, and none are darker than the story of the Gordon Mountain Ghost. On this episode, we traveled to Broad Mountain to explore the site of a 1925 murder that still haunts the region. A young woman was brutally bludgeoned and burned, and legend says her spirit still roams the mountain, searching for her killer or for justice.

The crime captured national attention, with dozens of newspaper articles chronicling the tragedy and reports of her ghost appearing on the mountain. Séances were held, and hundreds of cars lined the mountain road, all hoping for a glimpse of her lost soul.

Episode 79: The Slice of the Paranormal team teamed up with the Odd and Untold Podcasts and Jason Stroming for an exclusive, personal tour of Sailor's Snug Harbor. Jason has investigated this Staten Island landmark many times and even helped produce a documentary about its ghostly lore. Thousands of sailors lived and died here, and with a history of a few murders, it's no wonder a number of spirits still call the site home.

We explored the grounds, including the Matrons House, the Governors House, and the surrounding gardens, hoping to catch a glimpse of the helpful sailor ghost known as "Old Salty." Along the way, we took in the beautiful botanical gardens and soaked up the stories that make Sailor's Snug Harbor one of Staten Island's most haunted sites.

Episode 78: The Slice of the Paranormal team loves to travel, and when we hit the road we can't resist stopping at places that dive deep into cryptids, UFOs, ghosts, and seriously dark artifacts. In this episode we head to Elizabethtown in Lancaster County to explore the strange and unforgettable House of Oddities and Curious Goods.

Owner Jeremiah Crowther has been collecting bizarre artifacts since the 1980s, and his shop is packed with items that blur the line between history, sideshow oddities, and the paranormal. Inside you will find everything from a human skull and a repossessed tattoo to Blackbeard's booger and Martyr Blood balls. The shop also features classic sideshow gaffs from the closed Gettysburg Dime Museum, including Jo Jo the Dog Faced Boy and Edgar the Alligator Man. Turn a corner and you might come face to face with a statue of John Wayne Gacy dressed as Pogo the Clown, or see a preserved sample of Charles Manson's hair.

We also talk about another fascinating Lancaster County location that sadly no longer exists. The town of Columbia is famous for a local cryptid known as the Albatwitch, a small Bigfoot like creature said to steal apples from orchards. The legend is so popular that the town hosts the annual Albatwitch Festival, which attracts cryptid hunters and folklore fans from all over.

Local paranormal researcher Rick Fisher once operated the National Museum of Mysteries and Research, which displayed his personal collection of artifacts connected to Bigfoot, Mothman, UFO sightings, and the Albatwitch. The museum also held more than 1500 books, posters, and newspaper clippings covering decades of paranormal research.

While the museum itself is gone, Rick is currently restoring the historic Columbia Market House Dungeon and offers tours of the site. He is also the author of Ghosts of the River Towns, a must have for anyone exploring the haunted history and strange legends of Lancaster County.

Episode 77: You can't go to Gettysburg as a ghost hunter and not visit the Farnsworth House Inn, a location known for its 16 resident spirits and one of the most haunted inns in Gettysburg. This is a place where you can stay overnight, book a ghost hunt, enjoy a great meal, or have a drink inside Sweney's Tavern. Book a room with a Boo and request the Sara Black Room, a popular choice for anyone searching for a true haunted hotel experience in Gettysburg. You can also book a paranormal investigation and explore the attic where the Civil War sharpshooter, believed by some to be connected to the death of Jennie Wade, was once stationed. During past investigations, the ghost boy Jeremy has been known to tug on shirts, adding to the long list of reported paranormal activity at the Farnsworth House Inn. If the attic does not deliver, head to the basement, another well known hotspot for ghost activity. The space features a haunted mirror and is set up in a way that feels like a funeral, complete with dim lighting and church pew seating. It creates an atmosphere that stands out even among other haunted places in Gettysburg. We even knocked on the door marked by Lorraine Warren, who painted an exorcism cross on it to keep dark spirits away. At times, there have been reports of something knocking back. Many well known ghost hunters and paranormal investigators have visited this location and support its reputation as one of the most haunted locations in Pennsylvania. Episode 76: The Slice of the Paranormal team has a habit of running into twisted history when searching out haunted lore. Sometimes it's hard to deduce who are the good guys and who are the bad guys, it boils down to the perspectives of the participants. In Luzurne County Pennsylvania we hit up the sites of the Wyoming Massacre. The area saw over 300 deaths of the American forces and their bodies were left to the elements for months. Who knows what energies seep into the ground and cry out for justice. We visited where all the bodies were buried, as well as the rock 30 men were killed by having their heads bashed in. Queen Esther was blamed for the atrocities At this rock but historians aren't sure she was guilty. The ghosts of this event may haunt this site, and others connected to this tragedy. Episode 75: The Slice of the Paranormal Team has each attended college, not surprisingly all of those Universities have haunted lore. Some people go to college to learn, some go for the parties…..we go for the ghosts! On this episode we explore the haunted lore of Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. This site has ghost lore with Seibert Hall, and Trax….the college music venue. But the campuses most known ghost is Charlie who is said to haunt Weber Chapel. Even our shows producers "Stone State Entertainment" have had run ins with Charlie. We let both our Mikes share their first hand experiences with this campus ghost. Even the pizza shop we review has its own ghost lore, not only can you grab a slice here…but maybe even run into a headless dog!

Episode 74: Slice of the Paranormal decided to check out the Haunted Lore of where our First President George Washington and his army of patriots weathered the winter of 1777/78 after the defeats of the Battle of Germantown and the Battle of Brandywine. Who knows how many graves may dot this modern day park. People claim to still see the soldiers marching and standing guard. In the late 1800's people claimed to have seen the ghostly campfires of long dead patriots dot the landscape. In this episode we answer the question of, Did a Ghost or Angel visit Washington in his Headquarters while praying.

Episode 73:

The Slice of the Paranormal crew joined the Coal Region Paranormal Team and Bigfoot Radio to conduct an Investigation for Bigfoot Radios, "Is your house haunted" event! We looked for shadows coming down from a balcony area, the ghost of a child who is said to have died in a 1933 fire, as well as the spirits of the former owners Vincent DiAugustine and his granddaughter Renee Bower (DiAugustine). Staff have also reported of hearing whispered voices in the dark empty rooms. The Slice of the Paranormal team is thrilled to be able to get to investigate this site with C.R.P.T. Who has investigated this site numerous times with some great results.

Episode 72: History is full of death, tragedy, and injustice. In this episode we explore how history has imprinted some of its darkest shadows on a region marked with blood in early Pennsylvania history.

We begin our journey at the Isle of Que, or the Isle of Death, as it was called by 18th century Indian interpreter Conrad Weiser. On this small strip of land along the Susquehanna River, Conrad and Shikellamy stood together, unaware that in 1755 it would mark the beginning of the Penns Creek Massacre, one of the most brutal frontier attacks in Pennsylvania colonial history.

Along the waters of Penns Creek, fourteen settlers were killed and eleven were captured in a violent raid that would shift the course of the colony. The massacre forced Pennsylvania's Quaker leadership to reconsider its commitment to pacifism, leading to the construction of frontier forts and the raising of a provincial militia during the French and Indian War.

The tragedy is said to have left an imprint on the land itself, where settler blood soaked into the soil. Local legend claims the cries of victims are still heard along the meandering creek, and that mutilated apparitions are still seen near its banks.

This episode explores the Penns Creek Massacre, Isle of Que, Conrad Weiser, Shikellamy, Pennsylvania frontier history, Quaker pacifism, French and Indian War conflict, Native American and settler warfare, haunted history, and the paranormal legends surrounding Penns Creek.

Episode 71: In this installment of Ghosts and Boos, the team explores a few haunted bars in Philadelphia. First, we check out the Moshulu where 28 men have died on board, and laughter is heard below decks and lanterns light themselves. While walking along Pine Street we kept our eyes out for the Hag of Pine street, while we make our way to every artists favorite dive bar…..Dirty Franks!
