This week we welcome another Lobster Theremin affiliate in the guise of Grant! He's put together an ultra deep heatwave house mix for us that will have you leaving your desk and heading straight out to the nearest park or poolside to enjoy it properly!

Speaking with the main man he told us that he's got an upcoming album for late 2019 + another Grant ep & a camarade ep in the works. Also worth keeping an eye out for are a remix of a track by Malin Genie & Selidos coming out in November on berg Audio which you can hear in the mix ;)

So here we have it... number 200 in our guestmix series... seems kinda nuts...

To mark the occasion, we felt it was necessary to get somebody to contribute with the sort of diversity we've always tried to champion.

Step forward Joyce Muniz...

Born in Brazil and moving to Vienna in the mid-90s to her pursue her musical dreams, she started out mixing drum & bass and breaks, and soon landed a residency at the legendary Flex Club. This regular slot pushed her to develop into playing a more eclectic multitude of styles, from house and techno to dub. It was here that her ‘sound’ began to form, drawing on a wide range of influences and styles and filtering them into a dance floor context. Amassing a huge vinyl collection and a deep knowledge of electronic music along the way, she laid her strong foundations in these formative years.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the series so far, it's a stupendous catalog of talent looking back. Here's to the next 200...

Franz is the head of Slow Motion, an Italian dance label based in Berlin. Aside from producing on his own imprint, he has releases on World Unknown, Bordello A Parigi, Bahnsteig 23, Tusk Wax, or Discodromo’s Cocktail d’Amore Music.

Franz Scala’s sets are as diverse as the music he curates as label head of Slow Motion. Weaving smoothly between Italian Dance, Psychedelic Disco and Proto House, Franz quickly turns the dance floor into a vignette-tainted retro nostalgia rave fueled only by his music, and this mix is no exception... It feels like more is said than known about Sheffield’s @thatmanmonkz.

They sometimes say he’s a veteran (he’s not, he’s only been a solo artist for 5 or so years). We've read that he’s enigmatic (he's not really, he’s very friendly, just unconcerned with hype). Apparently he makes 'Soulful House' (he sometimes does, but not 'soulful' in inverted commas, and he’s just as likely to be making disco or techno, or even hip hop... He's 1/2 of our favourite discovery this year Pan Amsterdam). He’s certainly always busy!

In between the recent launch of his new edits label “Hot Peas N Butter”, and his upcoming sophomore solo album "Non Zero Sum Game" (due in mid October on his own Shadeleaf Music), 'monkz takes time out to drop us a guest mix somewhere in between the rare and the raw, filled with everything from disco steppers to analogue footworkers.

Previous guest mix contributor @Cromby got in touch with us a while back saying he had some good mates who he thought would be a good fit for the mix series. In truth we'd not heard of the Long Island Sound boys but they sent us a bunch of their music which instantly blew us away. Rich and textured electronic sounds with an abundance of moody feelings. Definitely check out the EPs on @bobby-analog's Body Fusion and their own SIGNS OF SPACE.

This week ladies and gentlemen is the delightful Faro originally hailing from sunny Brighton but now based in London. As you'll hear from the mix she's supplied this week she is a right dab hand on the decks. Having supported pretty much who's who in the game right now and running her 'Faro & Friends night at the ol' Horse & Groom in Shoreditch plus holding down a residency at Patterns in her hometown, we firmly believe Faro is someone to keep a close eye on. Even more so as a little bird has told us that she'll be heading into the studio soon to work on some music. Berlin based Joe is a wizard at sample digging and has crafted a style like no other with his productions. His tracks are so full of character & charm that you cant help but smile when you play them.
