SlothBoogie Podcast

This week we have the awesome Meggy who joins us from Berlin.

She's part of one of our favourite German crews called Suol Recordings and she's made an absolute belter of a mix for us to get you in the bank holiday weekend mood! Lots of chuggy grooves and some sultry deep house to finish it all off. @djanemeggy @suol

We're getting into the Summer spirit at SB towers with a cracker of a mix from Croatian DJ & producer Homeboy. The House Is OK label boss has been taking Berlin by storm as a resident at the ever hyped Salon Der Wilden Renate club but his roots run deep on the Croatian festival circuit too. He'll be part of the Sonus Festival this year which is celebrating its 5th Birthday in August. Check this awesome mix out and then come up with any excuse to head out to the Adriatic coastline for beats and sunshine vibes.

Disco hotshot and record label extraordinaire, @VinylAddicted, is next up on our mix series with an hour of pure disco and house fiyahhhh just in time for the Bank Holiday! We’re big fans of the strictly vinyl-only label and SlothBoogie housemate, Debonair, had a release on his label last year.

Our next act to grace the mix series is SB house favourite Real J from France. Real J (formerly known as Real D) exploded onto the scene last year with his killer track called Rhodes That. Be sure to cop his new Stuck In The Realness EP on Waxtefacts Rec; it’s been on solid repeat!

This Saturday (8th April) we welcome Mark E to Number 90 in Hackney Wick for a special extended 3 hour headline set.

So, whenever I make a mix at home, I tend to go through all my records and then come up with a goofy name that kind of informs the mix, gives a theme of some sort, and helps get a bit of a vibe on when I'm on my tod. So this one's called...

IT'S A DISCO ROCK PARTY

TRACKLIST:

Cloud One – Disco Juice

Rah Band – Perfumed Garden

Quando Quango – Love Tempo

Unknown – Alomoko (Joe Clausell edit)

Material (with Nona Hendryx) – Busting Out

Insanlar – Kime Ne (Ricardo Villalobos remix)

June Montana – I Need Your Love

Oliver Nickels – Crocketts JX3P

Patrice Rushen – Come Back To Me

Sly and Robbie – No Name on the Bullet

Loose Ends – Hanging on a String (Frankie Knuckles Reprise)

Other than that, what I've been up to lately in the studio... I'm about to have a record out under the name Earth Patterns. A new name as it's a new sound for me... It will be released on Utopia Records, which is a label by Alex Bradley (known previously for his Love Fever parties in London), in collaboration with Phonica. I think it will be the 5th release, following records from Soichi Terada, Modaji, Lars Bartkhun and Vangelis Katsoulis. We've just got the test pressings back, and you can check it out on my soundcloud:

The guestmix series rolls on with a brilliant contribution from Berlin via LA based @stevehuerta. The man is a master when it comes to creating a deep and brooding House cut. You just need to check his LK Tapes EP on Let's Play House for a taste of his smooth work and you'll instantly be craving more.
